Has there ever been less interest in Gator football?
Not in my lifetime.

It shouldn't? I guess that's true if we are willing to acknowledge that we have officially become only slightly better than UToothless, pointing to this year's moral victories as reason for optimism that next year we might also have some more "almost good" moments.Felt pretty blah in the late 80s, in 2004 and 2014. But yes, this may be the least amount of excitement I’ve seen going into a season. And the worst part about it, it really shouldn’t be. Last season had some fun moments and things you could point to for optimism. Even Atlanta was the best performance we’ve seen there since 2008. But while some were already negative and had bailed on Mullen, many hadn’t until the Lsu game. Even the bowl debacle is a distant second. I swear they will write books about that foggy night.

Bullshyt. At least we have a mystery as to Emory Jones to some extent, even if we have expectations. Plus, the defense can't be worse and the offense may have fresh blood in Lingard and Bowman.
Dude, no one even CARES about spring practice. No one.

Im not talking about roster depth or whatever.
Im talking about INTEREST. No one cares.
I'm in SECGator's cruise line. EJ is a mystery because Mullen played him that way. What I remember of EJ is that the opposition defense played him to run and he "skipped" through tacklers for 5 yard+ gains. His passing was inadequate only because we had a potential Heisman throwing passes. We have untested RBs that just could surpass last year's rushing game (I like Malik, Wright, & Pierce). Got plenty of fast tall WRs & tuff to cover TEs who can block.
I bet our defensive players will have that stuff'em drive with chips on their shoulders. (Hell, I hope I watch with a chip on my shoulders.) We might have a decent defense that's indecent. I wait to see what comes true.
Yeah interest is low but I think there’s a plethora of reasons as to why that is. I think this team will have more potential than some of our previous iterations. Not having a spring game pretty much killed any interest from casual fans. Our only insight to camp has been tracking down tweets from across the web. I’m sure you and I don’t mind it. But most people aren’t that invested. I imagine interest will ramp up tremendously once fall camp comes around.Dude, no one even CARES about spring practice. No one.

Will interest rise in the fall of course, will it be as high as the 2018/2019 seasons. No, the chatter isn't there. The offseason chatter isn't there. This was a year in which this staff needed a Spring Game, they needed that buzz.
No one gives a fvkkks about Mullinz ball.COVID is a shanked punt on football fever. When "things" get better fan fervor will rise. These 2021-2022 Gators have so much up in the air it loop-de-loops us in confusion. But even the first game could get us bragging rights.
Late 80s my interest was seriously slowing. Emmit was THE only spark that kept me quasi interested. I'm there again. Mullen/Strickland... tired of it.Felt pretty blah in the late 80s, in 2004 and 2014. But yes, this may be the least amount of excitement I’ve seen going into a season. UF canceling the Spring game ... AGAIN... is like spitting in the faces off all the die-hard football fans.
