As usual the powers that be have gone 100% in the wrong direction.

College ball at its essence is supposed to be a game between the students of one school vs the students from another school. Calling most of these kids “students” is a joke. But rather than realize that the integrity of the institutions themselves is dangling by a thread over this completely obvious 21st century plantation dynamic and making a course correction back toward sanity, they decided to double down on the madness by allowing players to not only get paid but to transfer willy nilly from school to school like mercenaries.
The whole thing is beyond fuchsed.

It is however a perfect reflection of the FUBAR society we live in. These are the kids who will one day elect Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho president.
:goon: :coffee::goon:

My only issue with this is the schools didn't bring this current world vision into play, the Court's did at player and former player litigation claims. Schools were losing the transfer fight in Court and the Supreme Court was unusually aligned that the scholarship limitation model is up. As Deet pointed out, the Schools show zero loyalty to players too. With that goes reciprocal loyalty.

The messed up problem, until the contracts many have alluded to, are the schools are technically not part of these negotiations and so you end up with family reps and others having these discussions in some dark-web like space with little fully documented (see Rashada too). It's a mess not because of the changes ordered by the Courts, but the obstinance to what those Court rulings really require.

Good luck in D2.
If his goal is to make money, then this is a dumb move. But if he just wants to play and compete on a winning football team, then D2 is a good option for him.

I work at a D2 school, and the way D2 functions for the most part is what college football should be. The guys play for the love of the game and pride in their school. Sure the transfer portal and NIL has made an impact both good and bad in D2 as well, but it's not nearly as problematic as what Power 4 schools deal with. Actually, the quality has been better. Lots of D1 walkons and backups recently have transferred to D2 to have a pretty successful careers.

Get rid of the four game cushion and go back to zero. Guys used to lose an entire year of eligibility because an idiot coach sent them in for one play by mistake. They can do it again. Problem solved.

If work promised me a certain pay/ bonus then didn't give it to me, Id be out the door long before they could "fire me"
Anyone making a business/life decision based on a VERBAL deserves any stupid outcome he gets. Even Rashada has a text... allegedly. Maybe I'd cry a few tears for him if he wasn't averaging 43% and 106 yards. That's walk-on level stuff. He's a putz.

Ranked # 137 Nationally
Who was? He was a walkon.

Do you mean #137th DB in transfer portal?

He was the usual Billy ball piece of leftover shiite.

Reminds me of one of the pumpers (AR?) bragging about Mullen's "GREAT RECRUITING CLASS" which was roughly Billy level/mid teens "because he got the #1 player". I laughed and ask wha what he was snorting.

He then says Diwun. As if "#1 rated Juco" means anything outside of Mississippi State or Central Arkansas.

It's the same with walk-ons from Tulane.

I was talking about DJ Douglas. Don't change the subject. :)

The other Whittemore is going to a geographic school. Just another example of 247 being trash.

His real ranking by real football scouts ( not interns and "journalists" trained only in weekly clickbait) was unranked 3 star Creed Whittemore SOPHOMORE Wide Receiver Mississippi State
