Charlie hasn't had a good defense since his Louisville defense was #1 in 2013.

I haven’t really followed his career that closely, but if you elevate to HC, aren’t the defenses really run by your DCs? I’m sure he has input, but it’s not his full time focus. I could be way off though.

I would like my alma mater to give Kerwin a call, but they aren't going to shell out the $$$ necessary.

He is 59 and has been head coach at three schools. He was once an elite DC. Is he still? Can he become an asst coach and show the same capacity to be a DC?

Considering he hasn’t served as DC for a decade, your guess is as good as mine. I’d take him back. He’s a solid, solid recruiter.

Local news says both Leavitt and Taggart are on the list of replacement candidates.

Do the Nulls play USF anytime in the near future?

If so, I’m all for Taggy getting another chance there.

It would be great to witness a Willie led USF team upend the Nulls

The trouble with the idea of replacing Grantham is that he statistically has one of the top defenses in the country. So getting better recruiters for his side of the ball is the only realistic way to expect an upgrade this offseason unless somebody pulls another Cleveland Browns and tries to hire Grantham away.

Bottom line is if we can't get rid of 3rd and Grantham, he needs to get the players that can limit the damage caused by unmitigated risks of 3rd and Grantham.
