That was completely tongue-in-cheek.

But it's a nice segue into my contribution: strip clubs in general. The vast majority of time I've gone to one, the number of attractive girls usually amounts to less than 2.

All the ones I went to in the military were a complete waste of time & money; and while Rachel's and Mon's in Tampa are a marginal step up in quality, just never saw the point tbh.

The point is to keep successful young men from having all the money. Those funds that may have otherwise assisted in an earlier retirement and/or beach home for a select few are now scattered(sometimes literally) to less fortunate girls whose dream of becoming a news woman will never pan out. They in turn spend that money at bodegas, tattoo parlors and BeBe outlets. It was the original wealth distribution. It also gives the girls a segue into the escort or porn industry.

Some places like you mentioned try to create a classy, I’ve arrived, environment. Others like Cheetah would sometimes have two girls full blown having sex on the stage, which catered to that specific crowd. What I didn’t get was the amount of women that would be in there just because it was the hangout, Diamond’s and Rachel’s as examples. I also didn’t understand the married men. I made a vow I wouldn’t go anymore once married and have stuck to that. Found that I was mostly going along with friends and, as you said, never saw the point after that.

Seattle is a long flight and offers very little in my opinion . Not a fan of the Northwest in general but at least Oregon has Bandon Dunes

Never found the appeal of Rachel’s for dinner. Used to do the lunch buffet like once a week when I was single and has the finial mapped out. And I’d go there at night. Just not for dinner.

Did a PE raise once where the CFO had his own table near the stage at Rachel’s. Actually had his name on a brass sign.
Rachel's was open late.

Pretty hard to get a steak anywhere in Orlando after 10pm (maybe Denny's). So after a night of drinking we'd go to Rachel's and get a decent meal.

Ok, makes sense. We had Havana for that(24hrs). No better second dinner than a plate of Cuban food at 2am.

Son #1 and I discovered this in downtown Gainesville, where I'm pretty sure we were the only two white dudes in a 3 block radius... damn those sandwiches were GOOD!

In Gainesville? I was talking about WP, off Forest Hill.

Maybe Flacco’s in Gainesville?

I think it mighta been Flaco's... definitely got the food from a window

Generally I wouldn’t ask this, but you seem to have a lot of stress and be a drinker, so I can relate. Are you sure you weren’t talking about being in West Palm?

Myrtle Beach - growing up two miles from the Gulf, I know beaches. There’s a reason it’s called “Dirty Myrtle”, it’s a crime infested ****hole.

Pigeon Forge - a pure tourist trap, plenty of other nice small towns in the Smokies to stay.

Any Dunkin Donuts - premade shipped in garbage. Krispy Kreme any day over their crap.

Growing up in DC, you could always go to Chinatown after a heavy night of drinking. I used to wonder if some of those places ever closed. For some reason, Moo Goo Gai Pan tasted better when you were hammered than any other dish. Sober, it would prolly be my last choice.

Yeah, I'm having cognitive dissonance over the idea of simultaneously being in Gainesville and being 3 blocks from any other white people

We stayed in a cabin in Townsend the last two falls, and tried going to PF(the first year). I remember going as a kid from Cades Cove, and it was like 30 min. Recently we sat in gridlock for and hour and a half, and were only half way there. Turned around and went back. Apparently that’s the norm now because of the two lane roads. Anyway, totally agree. It’s Kissimmee in the mountains. Zero reason to leave the Cades Cove side of the mountains. Gatlinburg is the same thing. It’s a shame what they’ve both become.
