When's the last time the receiving corps was this deep?

I'm not very sure about many things on this team going into 2014, but one thing I feel very confident about is that this is the deepest receiving corps in a while. To me, certainly since 2009, at the least. And I actually think when this year is all said and done, this group as a whole could turn out to be more productive in 2014 than that unit was in 2009. Am I crazy for thinking that?

Just too much young talent for this group not to be pretty good, IMO.

2008 had a deeper receiving corps than 2009 because of Percy Harvin (especially once David Nelson came on strong at the end of the year).

Pretty much. How many real proven WR's do we have? One?

I hope you are right but all I remember about 09 was Cooper getting some deep balls (miss that) and the Dive play constantly (In our SEC games anyway). We did run it up that year against the lesser opponents however.

The question is.... Will the ball arrive on time and in a catchable location. The jury is still out on that one.

One of the things I remember about Tebow is that he threw a catchable pass even though it was rotating the wrong way.

Unproven potential only. Somebody has to hit them in stride.

Just looked it up. Cooper and Hernandez appeared to be like 80% of the receiving numbers but both weren't far from a 1,000 yards. I would take that this season.

Yeah, I would say only Dunbar is proven at this point. Fulwood would be the next closest based off previous production. Still, I've seen what Demarcus Robinson can do. If he can stay on the field, he's got potential through the roof. And there are just too many other candidates not to have one or two step up to fill out your starting rotation with some good receivers -- Pittman, Worton, Debose, Bailey, Thompson, Showers, etc.

Definitely agree with deuce, though. Jeff Driskel has to get better at throwing guys open and into windows. And for the love of God, he needs to throw the deep ball in bounds where guys have a chance to make a play on it.

Yes - I want to see Driskel show he can do that also.

I like where you're going....... We have the building blocks if a smart coach can put them in position to make plays.

I think Roper is the guy based on track record. Let him loose Will, let him loose!

This group has potential but has done nothing. Get back to us in a few years.

You failed to mention that he had terrible mechanics, that he had a long wind-up, terrible footwork, and couldn't read defenses. Oh yeah, he could't work under center either and he crammed his religion down everybody's throat.

Why would I say such ignorant things about the Greatest QB to ever play at UF, SEC and College.

Wink if your joking...

If we have to wait a few years for the answer to this question, Florida's in trouble, IMO.

That's my point. The bar has been lowered so much by the current administration that some are heralding Quinton Dunbar's numbers. Sad.

I think we have a similar talent level as 2009. However the jury is still out on development and how other positions will play around them. I do think we are all forgetting McGee here. He is a proven TE/Slot. I see a good year in this position.

Good depth and tons of potential. What that will equate to remains to be seen, but I agree that it's the best shape we've been in for several years.
