He was seen icing his knee in one of these practices, so he appears to be not 100% yet..

Ice is used to reduce swelling. With any knee injury that severe it will swell after use. Debose is not 100% in the sense of what he can do over 30 plays straight, but he is probably close to it if he plays smaller amounts of reps at a time and ices afterwards.

I never understood the Percy comparison. I thought his ability and body type was more like desean Jackson. I'm not saying he's as good by any means I'm just saying if he stayed healthy and hit his full potential that would be a more suitable comparison
go back and look at his HS games.

6th and final year...won't take much to exceed the prior 5 years worth of production...if he stays healthy.

He should be fine and if he stays healthy we will be pleasantly surprised.

From the practices I attended, he is still one of the if not the fastest player on the team...in speed sweep drills with the wide outs, he clearly was the fastest among the wide outs and backs, he caught a few passes...did have one drop, but all the wide outs have had at least one drop they should have caught. He looks good and I hope he has a great season. The young man has been through alot and stayed strong through it. As long as his knee holds up he will have a descent year with his speed. Remember, even with his troubles, he is still Florida’s all-time leader in kickoff return touchdowns and if he gets one this year, he will be the all time leader in the SEC. He is currently in a 4 way tie with Tennessee’s Willie Gault, Georgia’s Brandon Boykin and Felix Jones from Arkansas. Here's to hoping Andrea breaks it!! :swampqueen:

Nicely said. Ive always liked Debose. He has just really struggled with injuries since he's been here. And Pease's system was a horrible fit for him. But let's be honest. It didn't fit anyone.

You can say that again. It seemed to take away from whatever our players strengths were and ask them to do things they were not capable of......over and over again. It's almost like he didn't look at the results of his work. The few times that he found something that did work he would use it until it was scouted to death. I may sound loonie but I think we would have had more success on offense running a triple option attack rather than the hodge podge of $h!t that we saw from his offense and play calling.

I saw him at practice on Thursday a little..he looked fast..don't really remember much when it comes to him beyond that. If he can stay healthy..really healthy..maybe he'll have a breakout season. If he can only give us a few plays a game..say 10-20..best to keep him on the KO and/or PR positions only..because as of yet that's where he is most effective..and I think we'll have enough WR's/TE's/Pass Catchers this season to do okay in that department without him.

I really hoped he would be fully healthy to where he could be a full time part of the offense and not just a specialist as some others have mentioned. I think he would be fantastic at taking some underneath drag routes and such where they could give him a running start and a little bit of an open field to work with. Dude is an open field nightmare with his speed and ability to get through a narrow lane.

You and GatorJ on right on with this. Pease was a weird thing. I am sure like me all of us have watched and studied this game for years, I even coached myself about 8 yrs. I cannot recall seeing a situation that was so dysfunctional as that. Yes I know we had a ton of injuries, and I know most of the top teams last year with those same key injuries would have not been where they were at. However;, I just do not understand why they could not try to make adjustments to what was going on. He tried doing the same things all year and they never worked and I just do not see how he never caught on to that...

I also hope he is 100% healthy..and if he is Debose is the kind of player that has the potential to once again average 20+ yards per reception an return 2-3 kicks back for touchdown given the opportunity..but if he isn't healthy..I'd rather him return kicks and punts than get the limited snaps on offense..he's far more valuable there and can make a much larger impact for this team.

If he stays healthy and stays on the coaches' good sides he will do very well at WR. You guys that don't believe that are kidding yourselves.
I also bet somewhat he will be a decoy depending on what defenses do to cover him.

I've never been on one that seems to have as many opinionated yet informed followers of all things involving Gator football.
Informed? I think you've got this place all wrong.
While we have (in my opinion) several people who are not very informed we have a few who are very informed and know stuff that your average (or even better) fan does not. Also there is a comparison factor.

Well some coaches want to run their deal and others can and will adapt to the talent that they have. In college over some time you have an opportunity to get the players to fit your system. In the NFL it is much harder to do. That is why Don Shula was so great, he would adapt his ideas to the talent. So win by running folks over with power running system, or throw for a lot of yards with great OB and WR talent.

I hope he has a wonderful year and a breakout season and gives himself the chance at a few years of income in the NFL. I also hope he has studied hard and is not counting on an NFL career. Nonetheless, if he does stay healthy, I have no doubt that he can flourish in this year's Gator offense. Lastly, I hope he doesn't act like a knucklehead getting unsportsmanship penalties and the like - he's had some bone-headed moments in the past. :-/
