You cant ASK for a dislike and get a dislike. What the hell is wrong with you?
A lot of you guys bring up some great names. Some of these guys I had forgotten about. I haven't read through every page of the thread, but one name I didn't see come up is Cyontai Lewis. The guy can't catch and his lack of catching skills has directly cost the team multiple games. He seems to skate by on athletic ability and appearance, but he's god awful! How this guy is still the frontrunner to start simply baffles me. As bad as Treon Harris was, I remember him hitting CL dead in his hands for a potentially game winning catch. Not only does he not catch it... it ricochets off his hands into the waiting arms of the defender who runs it the other way. He can't graduate fast enough.
Maybe I don't remember well but I thought he was functional at QB at least and nothing like Driskel when it came to messing up during the games. Edit: Maybe he was pretty bad looking at his stats that one year. My memory is getting bad.
Let's see: Shane Matthews was drafted into the NFL. Danny Wuerffel was selected in the NFL draft. Doug Johnson was picked in the NFL draft. Jesse Palmer was drafted into the NFL. Rex Grossman was selected in the NFL draft. Ingel Martin was picked in the NFL draft. Tim Tebow was drafted into the NFL. Jacoby Brissett was picked in the NFL draft. Jeff Driskel was selected in the NFL draft. So over a long stretch of time there is one UF multi year starting QB who was not picked in the NFL draft. To make matters worse this problem child who no longer has his teaching certificate was the first step away from the 1990s meritocracy that was UF football to giving away starting jobs. That move away from meritocracy has led UF from an established power to a program that has losing records every few years. And sure it took some time with some championship highs along the way, but the recruiting, signing and knuckling under to this kid and his family was the first step to where UF is now. So to me he is by far the worst Gator ever and it is not even close.
Hoops- Orien Greene. I still haven't forgiven him for that 5 second call against Creighton. This was Haslem's last game for us. Honorable mention- Werner & Bonell Colas. Gridiron- Probably Cory Bailey. Kyle Jackson is a solid pick here as well, but I am going with Bailey. They were both big recruits, but while Jackson played some as a freshmen he was eventually replaced by Reggie and then MW in 07 after a couple games. Whereas Bailey started for several years despite having worse ball skills than an infant. In one of Spurriers last classes he signed a great pair of prep receivers to go along with BB at QB. Kelvin Kight and Carlos Perez were thought to be the next Hilliard/Anthony in the fun and gun. Unfortunately neither did much for us, though they each had big games in 02 and 03 helping us knock off the pups in Jax.
Bonehead Colas....still brings bad memories.
