it not heard many recruits ever state that facilities were what swung his recruitment.
Also, kids rarely commit on location
These kids like to plan out elaborate commitment videos and things of that sort. And once they leave campus, I doubt they'll ever think of the facilities again.
.

Money talks. There is a reason Bama spends so much on facilities. Georgia's best recruits come from Georgia. LSU's best recruits come from Louisiana.

As long as parents enjoy seeing their kids play in person location will matter. Combine good facilities with a good coach and good location ( like Georgia just did ) and good things happen.

If your head coach is a lazy recruiter without the top facilities like Mac then yes recruiting will suffer in spite of location.

Mullen is the opposite of lazy and has only been at UF for 9 months. If you follow a bad recruiter who had a terrible season like Mac it is harder to get going but hustling like Mullen does at a good location plus eventual top facilities is a winning combination eventually.

SW 2nd Ave can be rerouted to the far side of President's Property, giving full land access with no separation by traffic. You take over the 40 ft. where the road was, plus the 25ft land buffer astride SW 2nd Ave thereby, gaining close to 90 extra feet, contiguous with both properties ?? The reroute will put drivers at the same ending destination. It'll just be on the far side of the Presidential Property. The new facilities will be free flow, all connectable. The reroute of SW 2nd Ave can be a soft curve if feasible and the drivers will be okay with it.

You knew that? Mullen had one of UF's best transition recruiting classes in history. This was done in spite of a 4-7 season by Mac and being preceded by a lazy recruiter in Mac. You know the final outcome of 2019 class already?

Smart was just with Bama who has a dynasty going so he got to build repore with the top recruits especially in his home state of Georgia.
Georgia is fertile just like Florida showing location does matter. Coach and repore with players also is important. Mullen has not been able to build the repore with the top recruits yet as he has been paying his dues at little MSU located near little talent as compared to Georgia and Florida while learning how to be a head coach.

Mullen was the best coach who wanted UF. You have to start somewhere. Who was your answer at coach (who wanted UF) for the most recent head coach hire?
Amazing how the state of Miss is loaded with talent this year and were not players for any of them. So wouldn't Mullen have relationships with these players? A lot are leaving the state why are we not players are you saying Mullen dont even have relationships with the players in the state that he coached in for 9 years? Certainly at least 1 of those top guys would be giving us a look right?

Four-star athlete Diwun Black decommitted from MSU. The Forest, Mississippi, native is ranked as the nation’s No. 67 overall player, the No. 6 overall athlete and the state of Mississippi’s No. 3 prospect for 2019, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Florida Gators landed a monstrous member of their 2019 recruiting class on Thursday afternoon in Forest (MS.) four-star athlete Diwun Black, who flipped his verbal commitment to UF from the Ole Miss Rebels.

247 now has Diwun ranked as the #52 player in the nation.

What is crazy about Mullen's class so far is if you just told people he had all those out of state blue chippers you would swear he must have the # 1 class right now until you see he hasn't done much at all in Florida.

Thanks. Thought that was wrong but was too lazy to look it up. Kind of like Mac being too lazy to recruit.

It bothered me enough that I looked it up, meaning I personally had forgotten how it's spelled & "cheated" by Googling it. I'm glad you took no offense. Most important, you & I both now know-it-all.

Mullen was not building rapport with the Florida players when he was in Mississippi. Mac was supposed to build up rapport with the 2019 state of Florida recruits but he was too busy drinking beer and barbecuing (plus a little PBJ action). Mullen has only been at UF for 9 months.

Mullen pulled some recruits out at the end of the 2018 transition class so give him time on the 2019 class.

The problem with that is that road is used for the stadium parking garage area. Big revenue source alums would be inconvenienced.

Yeah i said talent in Mississippi not players from Mississippi. Diwun is playing in Fl not MS. The state of Mississippi has 14 4* players 6 project to leave the state but none are even looking at UF. Mullen surely has relationships with some of these players right?

Dovetailing on kev's point = some advantage of getting Mullen as UF HC would be connections with recruiting routes to Mississippi H.S. coaches yielding some pull at getting top stars (4*-5*) in Mississippi to consider UF. Does any such bond exist ... if not, that's real bad evidence that Mullen is a poor recruiter.

It isn't over for these Gators because everything is new and improved from the last 4-7 crew. Young guys will start to mature, develop into effective players - even QB Franks. Mullen's crew better learn and develop also. Our best games are yet to come. However, there are still those other teams like UK having a long term HC & crew stability developing a team identity all their players belong to, working together for a few years. That's an advantage for our opponents.

Those HS coaches (and players) in Miss are so used to the Freeze bagman (along with bama bagmen) you have to bring the mother
lode to get em to look at UF.

Byrd is trying to tell gator fans that everything is all good. But it just comes off as trolling. Everyone is here telling him facts of why he's getting things wrong and he just keeps saying we shouldn't worry. It's crazy how quickly pumpers forget the past. It's always the same guys telling us to trust the coaches. The coaches know what they're doing. Trust that (Zook, Muschamp, Mcelwain, Mullen) is an expert and they'll get it turned around. When we can all see with our own eyes what's happening.

Here's the real problem....We are NOT bringing in enough "game changing" talent per year to offset even what we are losing to graduation. We need(6-8) 5 stars that ARE good enough to play or at least be in the rotation along with another 12-14 VERY solid 4 stars in the next 2-3 classes to offset the trend that has been bleeding this program dry over the last 6 to 7 years......In other words we need top 5 classes in at least 3 of our next 4 years to be a top 5-10 ranked team.

Spin it any other way you want but the truth shows up on Saturdays and right now and for the foreseeable future it ain't pretty.
