Still amazed that its a year penalty when all kinds of more serious stuff is much less. Is the year for all banned substances? If so I guess if you're gonna take some protein powder that isn't on the official list you may as well go full-on Barry Bonds.

Idk about that. They reduced penn state's penalty. Guess child rape is forgivable but over the counter supplements totally cross the line.
Well...sense when has the NaziCAA ever made sense?

There were several times FAU ran simple 5 yard out patterns that are about as simple a throw as you can give a QB to a WR. I asked myself why can't we do simple patterns like that? The answer is that we do there is just no rhythm to the passing game , and almost nothing comes out on time. We were actually pretty good on third down up in Columbia. I'm not sure if we converted more than 1 3rd down all saturday. It was simply a dreadful performance .

We're also extremely predictable. 2nd and greater than 8 is always a run. The bunch TE set is a toss play to that side 98 % of the time.
We've tried at times to run a boot off that play, but unfortunately Treon doesn't sell the play action very well.

I keep waiting on that big goalline set for that play action pop up throw that we hit McGee with in the Ole Miss game. I don't remember seeing it since.

I'm betting if that situation presents itself this weekend, we might see the play action.

Many of Mac/Nuss' playcalls are setups for something later, like that goal line set, for instance. When I see that formation, though, I know it's a handoff.....to Taylor, going left, with Cox, Jr grating a path. That bunch TE set you talked about, yeah, that's a run 98% of the time, and when we do run the fake toss, bootleg action off of it, there's a guy in Harris' face as soon as he makes his turn, because those are literally the only two plays I've seen us run out of that set with Treon.

McGee said they ran that play specifically for Ole Miss because of the way they play goal line defense. Could just be they haven't gotten that look again this season.

Ahh, I never heard that quote. That could be it.

It also may have to do with Harris not being able to make that throw. That's not a dig at him, the coaches just may not trust him making that throw the same way Grier did.

Tell you what I wouldn't be shocked to see, though, is for a pass to be called out of that set where Cox is the target. When he comes out of the backfield as the lead blocker, he's usually wiping out a safety or an outside linebacker on the edge. The safeties are backpedalling by the time he gets to them.

Just a thought, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it.

1 year for all banned PEDS, not PED substances are left up to the conference/university.
