The area that he has improved the most is managing the talent on the team and getting the players to buy into being managed. A couple of years ago there was an internal revolt on the team and those players were let go. I believe that was the beginning of truly building the championship model we see today. Case in point, the all-time Gator leader in on-base percentage did not even play in the championship game. Walton has recognized who and what he has, has communicated with the players his expectations, and has done what he said he was going to do as far as performance and strategy.
