Langford is having a solid, though not spectacular, rookie season. A couple of games ago he had a walk off grand slam, unusual for a rookie. Recently, he has been hitting well and lifted his average to .248 with 10 taters. Not great, but promising.
What's already been a landmark 2024 for Caitlin Clark got even better Wednesday, as the Indiana Fever qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2016, ending the franchise's seven-year postseason drought that tied for the longest in WNBA history.

According to ESPN Stats & Information research, Langford, a bright spot in a tough season for Texas, is just the second player in major league history to hit for a cycle, pull off an inside-the-park home run, and blast a walk-off grand slam in the same season. Jackie Robinson did the same in 1948.
I have enjoyed following Langford during his rookie. I always want to know whether a hitter is getting better or worse as he and the pitchers get to know one another. Wyatt seems to be improving. He as hit .293 for the last 15 games while also improving his HR rate. Texas probably feels that they got what they paid for.
