Read the fourth bullet point under "History...." "While I know of no evidence of racism associated with our “Gator Bait” cheer at UF sporting events, there is horrific historic racist imagery associated with the phrase. Accordingly University Athletics and the Gator Band will discontinue the use of the cheer." June - Another step toward positive change against racism - Statements - University of Florida I've lived in FL my whole life. I'm clueless as to what he is in reference to.
This has to be a joke That WHOLE DAMN THING had to be a joke Really hope the crowd ignores that
Well fvk me I will never smile again.
Good. Personally, I was deeply offended. I'm also offended by the "Who Let the Dogs Out" chant which is nothing more than a halcyon trip down memory lane for Whitey, harkening back to a time when law enforcement used to release German Shepherds on uppity black folk.
Erm....im clueless too. Its a typical leftist tactic. "There's something horrible here! We dont know what it is but it's there!" Sports is being destroyed
This is ludicrous. The fifth bullet point eliminates prisoners from farm work where they can make a little money and stay active. Fuchs must have hired kapernick as an advisor. My favorite uncle used to tell me he was going to use me as gatorbait when I was a kid. I think we can rock the swamp with that song without the band.
I searched. The gut-wrenching history of black babies and alligators
So when do we get a new university president?
Theres gonna be some loud crowd lead gatorbait
1908!?!?!?!? You could probably dig back in history and make anything racist. Hey how about this. The Democratic party is now illegal because in the past it started the KKK
Do we need to remove Gators as our mascot?
A quick query (group text) of my friends/family yielded not one single instance of any of we native Floridians ever hearing that term in reference to little black babies.
Save it before its deleted. I have it as a ringtone,
I never heard of that before it was dug up. They did some serious digging to find that too. Who even gets the idea "hey our college chant MIGHT remind people of an obscure atrocity that happened 112 years ago!"
If you follow "logic tree" of this, it's inevitable.
Time to fire his Fuch ass
It is my ringtone too although I do remember an old Tarzan movie where little kids were used as crocodile bait.
It absolutely sickens me that the university I love and graduated from has joined this absolute horse**** woke culture. It really breaks my heart. I know I'll still be in the stands doing the gator bait cheer, and so will my wife and my daughter. Fuchs was chummy with Barrack so I can't say I'm totally surprised by this. I'm starting to feel like UF is turning into the University of Texas.
It's apparently not only racially insensitive, but sexist and misogynist as well.
