I've got 6 acres and a 60" SCAG. I've used several different brands but none compare to this thing. Never used a Gravely though.

When I did all my exhaustive, highly scientific, research, it came down to this: if I were running a lawn care business and cutting every day, I woulda bought a Scag, for what I needed, Gravely was a great value of quality and price.

I was going to suggest you buy the Ex Mark and I would buy the Gravely..

I see all the professionals here are riding Exmarks. Maybe it is a regional thing.

I only have 5 acres in about half of it's currently wooded, so I didn't spend that much money. I got Kawasaki Cub Cadet. it has been flawless but only four years.

You couldn't pay me to have another Kohler Husqvarna. What a piece of shyt.

Sounds like the gravely was a good choice. I’m not familiar with them in KY. Ex Mark is a well known brand around here. My BIL has a 60” that my son uses to cut 10 acres of his farm. It’s a smooth ride.

We bought a used 52” commercial grade husqvarna that did ok for 15 years but would never recommend one. The engine started leaking oil and we tried to fix it but ended up selling it for parts. Bought a used 52” Grasshopper and put mulching blades on for the front yard and around the trees in the pasture. The rest is done with a finishing mower attached to the tractor.

One of our neighbors has a diesel Grasshopper and swears by it. He said it cost a small fortune, but anything he needs, he always buys top quality.

I have a 61” inch deck, which I think is perfect. I used my neighbors once and they a 72 inch. Damn thing was like driving an aircraft carrier.

New guy built this shockingly large home directly across the street. He bought a $26,000 zturn.... with an enclosed cab with AC Looks just as ridiculous as it sounds.

I asked him, “Do you realize how many years of lawn service you could have paid for with the cost of that?”

Some name I have never heard of. It’ll be hard not to laugh when the AC breaks and then he has to mow in a sweat box.

If he can afford a Zturn with an enclosed cab/AC then he will NEVER mow in a sweat box. He will have it fixed or replaced quickly...

Our neighbor swears by Grasshoppers as well. They are on their second one in 25 years. They aren't cheap but built for longevity. Figured ours would have a good resale value when/if we sell our farm. This shutdown has made us reconsider wanting to move. It takes me about 3 hours to mow every week but there are far worse chores to do. But I love to mow and listen to podcasts to pass the time.

Our local dealer had a 96' deck ex mark on display a few years ago. It was impressive but I think I would rather have a tractor with attachments. It's more versatile. The ex mark is definitely a more comfortable ride.

One of my brothers went to high school with two girls that were twins. They were ugly, BAD. People would refer to them as "Skag" and "Scum" because they were so ugly...

Upgraded the SCAG this week. Got a brand new CheetahII 61."

Wanted the diesel but couldn't spring the extra few thousand.

This thing is awesome. The comfort of the ride is simply amazing.

Is that considered a commercial model or a high-end residential model? I found out the hard way a few years ago that the deck on those Scag mowers is extra heavy. I released it while standing beside one on the sales floor and almost broke my foot...

Commercial. Worth it though IMO.

Velocity+ deck is what makes this an elite product. Spews grass out like I've never seen.

This is what I have. I did upgrade to a fuel injected 28 hp Kawasaki. I find that it cuts way better, and looks way nicer (including zero clumps even if very wet) if you keep the black plastic chute open (or just remove it). Obviously have to be careful where you aim it.

I have a 38HP KawEFI.

The thing will not bog down. Simply incredible.

This is the mower that I have. John Deere ZTrak Z915E. I bought it in April 2019 and it has been absolutely great. Top speed is 10 mph and for what I mow that is usually too fast. I love it.

We use mulching blades on our Grasshopper. It chops and dumps without shooting it out.
