Something about listening to the pilot and the lingo is fascinating. I don't know if it's still available but when I used to fly a lot I'd plug my headphones into the arm and switch the channel to the cockpit. Didn't have a clue what they were say, and most of it is gibberish.

Haha, it only sounds like gibberish because you don't know what they are doing. If I listened to people talking over the radio in the same manner but they were discussing medical procedures I wouldn't understand what they were saying.

I thought what they were saying was boring as hell but it was hilarious listening to that video. The Saudi pilot who couldn't understand english cracked me up.

Exactly. That's why I find it fascinating. I always tried to figure out what they were saying and how it applies to our flight. Cool stuff anyway.

Yeah you have to develop the "ear." I understand every word of those transmissions without any subtitles.

I enjoyed listening. I thought the Saudi pilot was Flvcking with the ATC chick. Probably because she is a lowly female and he is a big bad Muslim man.
Some of the situations were.a bit ridiculous. I enjoyed the pilot who insisted on landing on 361R or he was going to declare an emergency.

You say that in a way it very well could have been but luckily for you, you always make sure the microphone is off.
I think most of us, if you really think about it, would be horrified of part of our daily private conversations were recorded and broadcast to the world.

Especially when I'm driving (by myself) and somebody's in front of me - and there's always someone in front of me.
