Have you used one or just reporting what youve heard? I havent read anything about reliability or feeding problems
Ive shot them myself while it was being tested. The tube selector switch thing is garbage, not very positive and hard to use w gloves. It would be just as hard under stress. The saying is when a noncombat hardened person is under stress it is basically like wearing mittens due to adrenaline. The standard teaching style is to teach techniques teach gross motor skills (versus fine motor skills) for that reason. All in all, there is a reason no professionals use KSG.
KSG is also very heavy, even worse loaded w 12 rounds. Im not a fan of bullpups in general because they just feel clunky and poorly balanced to me. Pretty much all bullpups have triggers which are just atrocious, but obviously that matters less for a shotgun.
There is a new single tube model that might be interesting
KS7- KelTec if you are deadset on a Keltec.
Another option if you MUST have a bullpups.
Home and that one is reversible if you decide you dont like it, just make it back into a traditional shotgun. Probably less expensive too and if you decide bullpup isnt for you, just swap it back to normal shotgun config.
Id I have to shoot one ALOT, like at least hundreds of rounds, before Id trust it.
I like the concept of a higher capacity shotgun but I think 12 gauge isn't the answer. I'd like to see something like a shortened 20 gauge to get the weight down on the ammo and the bulk down on any magazine or tube.
Personally Id just stick w an 870 or 500 w a compact stock for house use.
Tacticoll COULD be an issue, and this shouldn't really be a concern but in many jurisdictions, unfortunately, it is. How mean, nasty, and tactical your gun looks may affect criminal charging decisions. it could also potentially affect the way a jury looks at you if you did have to go to trial. Some attorneys say to get a plain Jane shotgun that looks like the squirrel/rabbit gun that grandpa had for that reason. or even paint your black nylon stock brown etc.
