Monday, July 13, is the first day programs that are scheduled to open their season on Sept. 5 can begin eight hours of required workouts a week. This includes weight training, conditioning and film review.
The notable differences in these enhanced two weeks of workouts is that they shift from voluntary to required, and coaching supervision is allowed.
The NCAA approved this model for football summer athletic activities and preseason practice last month. Then, from July 24 through Aug. 6, schools may conduct up to 20 hours of countable athletically related activities per week (not more than four hours per day) as follows:
-Up to eight hours per week for weight training and conditioning.
-Up to six hours per week for walk-throughs, which may include the use of a football.
-Up to six hours per week for meetings, which may include film review, team meetings, position meetings, one-on-one meetings, etc.
-During this 14-day period, student-athletes are required to get at least two days off.

YOUR SCIENCE DOESN'T MATTER!!!!!!!
I confess to not watching any Wake Forest games last year, so I may be totally wrong here, but why this great love for Newman? While his overall stats look good, he was pedestrian or worse in the few games they played against good, or just plain decent, defenses. (Clemson, UNC, VT, and Sparty.) In his final regular season game against Syracuse’s 89th ranked defense he was 6 of 13 for 71 yards and an interception and rushed for 23 yards on 12 carries before he got hurt in the 2nd Q.Best of the SEC
