Several good suggestions already. But I'd add Basil Hayden, which should be in the low 40s for you, and is my favorite around that price range.
Where you planning to go?+1 for Basil Hayden - that's my favorite under $50 bourbon. I'm heading to bourbon country this weekend...if the weather doesn't prevent travel.

Heard Peerless and Michters are cool. I think they’re both in that area.I'm not sure if we'll go on a bourbon tasting - I heard a lot of the places may be closed. I'm staying two nights in Shelbyville and one night in downtown Louisville. I'll definitely be at Doc Crows on Thursday after I fly in. It's supposed to snow Thursday there and a low of 5 on Friday morning (Oooooof!).
CD - I've been to Woodford, but not Buffalo Trace. I'll mention that to the group.
For anyone that's gone to the UF/UK games in Lexington - I've done Four Rose, Wild Turkey, Woodford and a couple others I can't remember. Always a great time. I'm hoping to be there this fall - so let's plan a meet up if any of you degenerates are going.

Dem Gov, so probably shut down pretty good
they have some old bourbon they put out every year, but they just started distilling a few years back. The $80 a glass reference was probably the 20 yr old. Not a lot of experience with the Michter's line.Yep. The Dem governor is a genuine c*cksucker!
Speaking of Michters - I'm watching "Billions" on Showtime right now and they were drinking it. I've never had it. In the show, the bartender was like, "Sir, that's $80 a glass." The wife responds, "We'll take the bottle."
UPDATE...Wilderness Trail "Yellow Label" was a BIG HIT with my Son-in-Law...Went to the "Top Shelf" of his bar.
When asked..."Oh, it's good...real good"
Never heard of it but Danville is 30 minutes south of us. @Seedy have you tried this one?
Road trip this weekend?
She hates the smell of bourbon. I’ve always wanted to do The Bourbon Trail.highly recommend. You should check out New Riff in Covington too. And of course Bardstown is awesome
Did it a while back. Not worth it. Just visit the distilleries you like. The Alltech distillery in Lexington is awful, but on the trail. Versus Buffalo Trace not on the trail, but a great experience. She hates the smell of bourbon. I’ve always wanted to do The Bourbon Trail.

all the tours are free too. not sure if it's the same as it used to be, but you used to be able to buy blanton's there on Mondays.A friend had a birthday party at Buffalo Trace a few years ago. Great place.
