Yea that sled was giving him all he could handle.

I found myself watching that dude struggle between reps versus watching the reps. All the tweets, Borders, Williams, Black, Wingo...and so on...missed them all...just scrawny dude struggling. They need to put that guy in the gym and go see the nutritionist.

Man, if they get Watson anywhere close to playing weight he is going to be an absolute BEAST to handle.

1. More on Des Watson...

(a) He reported to camp at 415 pounds. He ended last season at 400. Mullinz viewed his playing weight at 375. Gervon said Des is working really hard in practice and that he has bought in.

(b) When asked what kind of force Des can be in the middle, Gervon Dexter said he should be unmovable. The staff has said they are amazed how quick he is even at 400 pounds.

2. Jack Miller is looking better and better as spring progresses. It looks like the job will not be AR's by default. Miller is going to push him for the starting spot. After that it appears to be a huge drop-off.

3. The RB room continues to be impressive. As mentioned before, the tight end room seems to be a huge disappointment. Jason Marshall is looking like he will be a shutdown corner. Everyone is getting a shot at the spot opposite of Marshall. No mention of who is leading.

I think the problem with Des is can he do that 3+ plays in a row at that weight? Dude is a freak though. 560# is very strong but I believe at 415lbs he should be benching 660#? Im not a strength expert so Im going off broscience, but someone that benches 560# should weigh 373# for it to be ideal. So it does seem like he is a bit over his ideal weight but its good to see that he is benching the number he should be at for his ideal weight. @ltraz could probably give a much better answer to this.

Any idea what the staff feels is Watson's ideal weight? Clearly it's not 415 or even 400.

Maybe letting Tim Brewster go wasn't a bad move after all.
