They look like they've never been occupied. When we were traveling in Greece, there were stretches of unfinished houses overlooking the Aegean. I asked the tour guide why so many house had been abandoned in the middle of construction. She said it had to do with tax law. People bought the property and must start building but they don't start taxing until complete. So, folks would buy their retirement lot, do enough construction to avoid government action and then not complete the project until they were ready to retire. Sometimes 15 or 20 years.

In high school the girls soccer team was some of the most fun to hang out with and secretly hot girls in school. I used to love traveling with them when our games were at the same place. Now they are mostly lesbian and the Mia Hamm low key hotness has been erased.
