Of course we would. We also ejaculated when our DB lit up the Oklahoma WR in a very similar fashion. Fanatics.
Not even close to the same play. Wright hit a receiver in the act of making a catch. Travis Hunter was about to text his momma after a bad throw.

It was a fraction of second between when the ball went past and he lit him up, with his shoulder…in real time. Wright lead with his helmet and would be ejected today. As the kid Hunter said himself “it’s football”!

We aren't talking about the hit on noshow are we?

No
He tackled another RB, Wayshaun Ealy and then Spikes stuck a couple fingers in his helmet and wiggled them at him.

He never touched his face or his eyes (per Ealy) but truth never stops ESPN from manufacturing drama.

I know it seems silly to bring it up so many years later but it always stuck out to me as a textbook example of how ESPN will do or say anything without regard for truth and then all the other sports minions repeat the garbage that ESPN manufactured and it becomes truth.

Spikes’ pick-6 in that game was one of the best moments of that season. We were literally toying with them.
