Hopefully Ham bone will simplify the defense this week and get out of all the man coverage. Zone it up and keep a safety back and then hopefully keep them out of the EZ and FG's instead. All these freshman, they aren't ready for the complexity and our LB's aren't good. If he does that and Mertz will throw to Wilson EVERYTIME the are in man coverage I think we can win. Oh, and ETN gets a bulk of the carries.

since I know that NONE of that is happening...

We need a Reggie Nelson at Safety to clean up all these missed assignments and tackles.

The truth is, guys like Nelson, and other great safeties are typically that way because they aren’t having to make so many tackles. Great secondary player’s are usually aided by an even better front 7. So as much as I’d love to have a RFN right now, he wouldn’t look nearly as great as you’d want given our deficiencies elsewhere.

Snell said that about ALL of them, Haden included... had lineman and guys like Alex Brown in front of them that could pressure the QB. He said, "NO ONE can cover a guy for 5-6 seconds... NO ONE"

Another advantage guys like Haden, Lito, Jenkins, George, Brown, etc also had is that they played a good portion of their games with a sizable lead and an opponent that had already thrown their balanced game plan out the window. Now you’ve got a great front 7 that also knows they’ll be passing. It’s one of the reasons several of our less heralded DBs have had a much better NFL career than any of us had imagined. Being in one score contests for 60 minutes is not a good recipe for good secondary play. Imagine what Tabor, Wilson and VH3 would’ve looked like if they could’ve played loose like the guys I mentioned above often could.

Yup… he also said that Marshall will play on Sundays for those very reasons. Probably late round pick, but will be playing on Sundays.

The current HC at Colorado played on Sunday and I don't ever remember him tackling anyone:thug:
He was a dynamic return weapon and one the top 5 cover corners of all time. Did not like contact but after his rookie year, nobody threw towards his side of the field. Marshall looks like he is playing tackle football for the first time in most games that he is on the field.

You really do get the sense for how far we've fallen while reading the tone of resignation here. It's freaking Missouri and you'd think we were playing 1995 Nebraska. This shyt has to come to an end.

Does the team still believe they can win with this staff on their sideline?
