Put the restrictions through NIL. If they leave through their own volition, outside of medical reasons, they have to pay back the NIL plus penalties.
No. Remove 4 year football scholarships. Moving forward scholarships are year to year and the school isn't obligated to renew it. Players want to have unrestricted free agency AND get paid? Fine, but the school should be allowed to process your underperforming ass out as well.

I believe that athletic scholarships are year to year and are renewed each year at the school's discretion. A player can lose the scholarship but outside of something egregious almost all are renewed.

And a lot of coaches promise the scholarships for at least four years as a recruiting tool.

Much like coach buyouts...comes with the supply/demand aspects of college football.

If you transfer, you owe any nIL received
But NIL money is for use of your name, image or likeness by entities outside the school.

So the kid endorses a product, service or business, gets paid for that and then has to give the money back because they want to change schools?

This is what makes your punishment for changing schools impossible.

Didn't we go to 4 year scholly's under Mullen, to help recruiting....?
Ironic question for sure, and I could be wrong.

Jalen Farmer’s departure puts UF right at 85 scholarship players if you include the 19/20 in the 2024 class. If we’re looking to “upgrade” thru the portal and add five or six recruits then be ready for a lot more transfers/decommits.

Honestly, lots of bigger programs seem to be seeing lots of attrition. It’s a madhouse.
