I would be stunned if Lane Kiffin was even a name on their list. I would absolutely love it if he went there. The recruiting drop-off would be epic.

I heard that he is the only candidate they are looking at. They think he may be better than Saban. I heard they are offering near 20 million a year.

Bama is in deep doodoo. Anyone after Saban is going to be a step down, and how many coaches want to follow a legend?

To underscore your point…

I think Norvelle is going to be number one on their list. Either they strike it big with him or he’s the fall guy.

How perfect would it be if Norvell went to bama and kirby went to Atlanta? I couldn't think of a better scenario. I don't see either one happening though

Wonder what Xavier Mincey is thinking now.
"how soon can I transfer?" No really, they are being told a home run hire will be made, position coaches retained, and whatever else is needed to sustain moral. If I'm the new HC there, I'm going to follow the Saban program to the letter. What else can you do, abandon what got them there?

Is Norvelliscious really that level of coach? Doesn't matter to whomever they hire if it comes with tens of million in guaranteed money. Question is, will Bama pull a Stricklin and guarantee a boatload? I saw the tweet yesterday that suggested/stated some major coaches have substantially low buyouts. Misinformation?

This is just plain stupid.

Shart is going to Atlanta to coach the Falcons.
Curious, is the money so much better that he would listen? He has a super gig at georgia so why would he, unless the money is too good and deep down he wants to try a system he doesn't(thinking Spurrier) have in the NFL?

If Urbs says no, Sarkisian line 2....
Probably joking a bit and I imagine bama would test through back channels, but with what he has at Texas, a top 5 program and oodles of money, would he really want to move?

Saban was a NC coach before they hired him. If they want that again, Dabo tops the list. And he’s family.

Who else checks those boxes?

Clemson is in the same untenable ACC hole as f$u. And he got uncharacteristically irritated with a caller’s criticism on a radio show a couple of months ago. He’s done all you can do there. He might listen.

Funny you mention this. Was listening to Jeff Cameron on the radio as I was driving today and he seems to think that Norvell is a Bama target after going 13-0 this year (not 13-1  ) and affected the “turn around“ of the FSU program. He offers the fact that Norvell hasn’t come out publicly one way or the other as an indication that he is in play. I may have a jaundiced eye, but I’m of the opinion that 13-1, ACC Champ, and blowout loser to UGA in the Portal Bowl doesn’t equate to heir to the throne of college football and successor to the GOAT. But either I’m underestimating his inestimable skill or they are still drunk with the success of their season and conference championship. I wonder if Kirby would give him a good recommendation?

Lane Kiffin is the perfect moron for the job.

I hear Dan Mullen is available though :heehee:
Re Kiffen, if they really did make an offer and it was mega lucrative, I could see it. Most of us realize Kiffen would be far down Bama's list if for no other reason his demeanor.

Re Mullen, IF they did choose to discuss the job with him- and I don't know much about his interview acumen, but he absolutely has to parrot Napier's process, organization, ground-up foundation, and full-on ballz to the wall recruiting.

Steele (DC) probably knew something was up as to why he was going to retire as the DC as MSN reported.
Would have to believe bummer's AA knew Saban's departure was possible, if not likely, and probably prepared with a list of possibles. That he went out beating georgia in the SECCG is really something.

If he can't handle "Taylor from Spartanburg" (Tyler?) how's gonna deal with that fan base? I can see Dabo wanting to go to his Alma Mater, but following Saban would be a bad move. The right move is to parlay this into more money from Clemson.

I dont agree. The dynasty is already set up at bama and he just needs to continue it.
