Edwards ended up signing w/ Colorado, which is a sad indictment on our recruiting efforts.

But take a look at this list. Edwards was 9th, the 9th best JUCO DT in the class. Miss State got 2 of the top 5 (#2 & #3). Kentucky got #7. Missouri #19.

#16 signed w/ Kansas and he's from Chipley, FL.

Several of the kids are from Georgia high schools.

What's the problem? Why in the F do we not have a JUCO DT in this class?

I know, I know...."I trust the coaches!!"

(head scratcher though is 2 of the 3 that are tied for #1 ranking chose Northern Illinois & Alabama A&M - probably a grades/test score issue):

we are a middling program right now. Not sure we should expect anything other than 4 and 5 loss seasons. and very average recruiting

Mac must know they have a bunch of blue chip DT's ready to flip on or before signing day. Maybe he is pulling the FSU thing about telling teams that you are still with them despite the flip coming. :D

Write up on SEC JUCO Signing Day. They're giving us credit for the Prep School DT (which is not a JUCO):

https://www.seccountry.com/sec/juco-signing-day-preview

While they don’t always generate the excitement of a high school recruit, landing a commit from the junior college ranks can be just as valuable. And Wednesday is essentially JUCO signing day, as it is the first day junior college prospects can sign with their school.

A number of SEC stars come from the JUCO ranks, such as Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara, South Carolina defensive end Dante Sawyer and, most famously, former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton. And if you don’t think that every team is after junior college guys, 11 SEC teams currently have at least one JUCO commitment and nine have at least two.

Several of the top junior college players have already announced where they will be attending. Auburn secured the services of Jarrett Stidham, a Baylor transfer who ranks as the No. 1 JUCO player in the country. Alabama has commitments from the No. 2 and No. 4 JUCO commits in defensive end Isaiah Buggs and offensive tackle Elliot Baker.

And while Wednesday is the first day players can sign, there still are a number of talented players out there. We’ve listed the top remaining JUCO targets, as well the JUCO commitments from each school:

Kendall Sheffield, No. 1 JUCO CB: Per 247Sports composite rankings, Sheffield is the top junior college uncommitted prospect. He committed to Alabama out of high school but transferred to Blinn College in his native Texas. He is expected to pick between Texas A&M and Ohio State.

Stephen Guidry, No. 1 JUCO WR: Guidry is the No. 6 JUCO prospect in the country and a 4-star recruit per the 247Sports composite ranking. Per the 247 crystal ball, Mississippi State is the favorite to land him. The Bulldogs lead the SEC in JUCO commits with six.

Brandon Martin, No. 2 JUCO WR: Martin checks in as the No. 9 JUCO prospect for the 2017 class. Martin has offers from Arkansas, Auburn and LSU. He is set to announce his decision on Thursday at 10 a.m.

Johnathan Abram, No. 1 JUCO S: Abram originally committed to Georgia out of high school but transferred from the program after Jeremy Pruitt was not retained as defensive coordinator. Abram has an Alabama offer, as well as offers from Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Abram grew up in the state of Mississippi.

We're going to be hit hard to kids leaving early and now it's even more apparent nobody will be ready to step up.

There are only 2 sure wins on next's years schedule.

I dont know why we didnt get the "no juco" commits label. I guess the SID is trying to save face bc everyone knows we spent a damn year hunting and offering pretty much every juco DL.

Campbell is not a juco.

Just trying to save face for these fvkking failures.
