In before ...
several of us start whining about the non-revenue and/or minimal revenue sports..."sucking on the teat of football and giving nothing back"

Well, here's a preemptive "please spare me your b*tching"

Maybe we can get a new coat of paint on the cinder block walls and some new drop ceilings.

So what happens with the money from a budget surplus? Does it get rolled over to next year? Immediately go to facility improvements?

I am happy that they used "surplus" not "profit" since these are non-profit organizations. The surplus in our case will be rolled over and eventually used probably for facilities. TAM has a large surplus due to raising money for their new football facility, they will have a lot of debt that our management insists on limiting. The SEC network is making money for us and others that have such an arrangement. The ACC is to get one soon.
