So if Mac's not responsible for these guys who is? He recruited and signed them. He chose to extend them scholarships. He made a choice and yet ..

Sure he owns some of the blame, but the ultimate blame and responsibility lays at the feet of the players. Mac is doing the right thing by suspending the players, not sure what more you want him to do besides kick 10+ guys off the team (Callaway the exception, he should go). Mac's never been shy to suspend players, if that doesn't get through to them, then it's the player who is beyond helping.

There's only like 7-8 WM players on the team. Goolsby, Mike, Bryan, Harkless, Lewis, Washington and Harris. None of them are involved so far as we know. This is the worst spin job I've ever seen at trying to let Mac and his recruits off the hook. FFS get a grip. WM is gone. 90% of this team are Mac guys.
You're missing a couple.

Powell, Dawson, Washington, Sherit, Townsend, Harris, Goolsby, Raymond, Riles, Harkless, Clark, Lewis, Stephens, Bryan, Powell (kicker), and about 7 or 8 other scout teamers.
125 names listed on the entire roster.
22-23 aren't Macs. 18.4% if counting the entire roster.
So he does indeed own 81.6% of it.
You are also right, none of the players caught up are WM players.

Callaway, Miami
Telfort, Miami
Houston, Ft Lauderdale
Miller, Lakeland
Smith, GA
Desir-Jones, Ft Lauderdale
Davis, Miami
Scarlett, Ft Lauderdale
Wells, Jacksonville

Smith might have been the dumbest, but I wonder how much the So Fla kids were driving it?
Anyway, your point still stands.

If charges end up being filed on all involved would it be the largest number of players arrested in a 3 year span for any coach? How many has he had so far? I'd say it's cause for firing him right :)

They aren't all going to get arrested, but yes, we know you're rooting for bad things to happen to the program in hopes that Mac will get fired.

Nope I think Washington St and Meyer era here claim those honors. You could make a case, but let's see how this plays out

Actually he is correct, Meyer had 31 arrests in 6 years. If arrests are made for all 10 athletes in this case, that would bring McElwains total to 24 arrest in just under 3 years.

He did, but going with the number of actual arrests in a 3 year span, McElwain might be the leader in the pack "IF" all 10 arrests are made on this issue. If not, Meyer is still the top of the leader board in a 3 year span.

All I can go on is what I see during Mac's interactions with the public. His public aw shucks persona would not strike fear into Barney Fife. I wonder, but certainly can't prove, whether a lack of fear of the coach's wrath didn't contribute.

It's funny to read people proclaiming that the players are thieves stealing from the school and yet the poster is at work stealing paid time from their company. The player will have to repay the money. Is the poster going to add up all the time they spent on this forum and repay the company for their loss? After all, thieving is thieving.

This same scenario has played out at many places. Alabama and Nick Saban had this happen years ago. It's not a new scheme. The players will repay the funds, no charges will be filed and everyone moves on. The only player in real trouble is the one that paid his rent with stolen cards and that was a completely separate issue.

The Mac haters are running around in circles screaming and ripping their hair out over this issue because they have an agenda. Chip Kelly has an expired show cause from the NCAA for actually running an out of control program that really did cheat and the dumpers would all welcome him with open arms. There was a post this week about how great Pell was (and he was) and he ran an out of control program that cheated. Spurrier had a group of several stars that were actually taking real money from a real agent. How many Bama players have been arrested with a gun and drugs or been shot in the last two years? Saban does not run an out of control program and everyone would welcome him as coach at UF as well.

Even the best coaches with the most disciplined program can have something like this happen. It's being handled well. The players are being suspended so that there are no NCAA issues.

I hate to burst the bubble of all the people at work hoping the boss doesn't see they aren't actually working, but this type of crime is considered to be fairly small. You know, like getting paid to work when you're actually not working.

Have you talked to the AAU about the money you steal from them here, instead of doing your job as McElwain's fluffer?
