(from Marty Cohen), this is ridiculous....and there are literally people who want to keep the OC (Nord isn't getting much love, but Nussmeir is - for some unknown reason):
Some (forgettable) numbers of note:
* It’s beyond ridiculous that in six games, Florida has not recovered a fumble. Florida is now the only FBS team in the nation to not pounce on a loose ball, and including FCS teams, 252 squads in all, only Florida and VMI have yet to recover a fumble in 2017, and VMI is 0-7 with a 13-game losing streak. Since 1950, only one Gator team has recovered less than six fumbles in a season, when the 2009 edition (of all teams) recovered just three . . .
* Florida is just 5-13 against the SEC West since the 2010 season . . .
* Florida has given up a whopping 223 yards in punt returns in six games, by far the most in the nation . . .
* Florida stands No. 105 in the nation in total offense, averaging just 351.2 yards per game. The Gators have reached 400 yards just once in the last 13 games (Vanderbilt a few weeks back), since piling up 523 on Missouri last season. More than half the FBS teams (68) are averaging 400 yards a game . . .
* Only four teams have thrown fewer touchdown passes than Florida’s four so far – Georgia Southern (3), Rice (3), Troy (2) and Army (1). Winless Georgia Southern has attempted only 74 passes in five games, while Troy is actually averaging a healthy 253 yards a game in the air, Rice is 1-5 and has been out-scored 218-70 and Army has completed eight passes in seven games. Opponents have thrown for more passing yards than Florida in every game in 2017 . . .
* Want to know why the SEC East is so weak, again – try horrible offenses. Five of the seven teams in the division are in the bottom 30 nationally in total offense – Florida (No. 105), Kentucky (106), South Carolina (112), Tennessee (116) and Vanderbilt (124), with Georgia (36) and Missouri (41) the outliers.
