Head Bovine did the same pi$$ing in the wind the last time we were looking for a Coach. Surprised so many lemmings are falling for it.

Good clickbait though. Should get some of the "guests" to contribute.

Pretty nasty, my friend. Not sure why this was called for.

It obviously goes further than experience. Landing a first-tier guy comes down to money, buyout, willingness and various other timing factors that make it less likely to all come together than the next tier down. That's why you always have to have a plan that considers the next tier down. Can't-miss hires don't always present themselves.

Premium comes at a cost and so does value.

With most of the time money being the least factor. First others with great coaches have money as well, and for some after a large number more money is not that important.

One of the hottest names during this upcoming coaching carousel is UCF head coach Scott Frost. UCF currently leads the nation with 51 points per game.

With the Florida head coach vacancy and a need for offense in Gainesville, Frost is considered a prime target of the Gators.

“I haven’t heard from anybody,” Frost told reports on Monday when asked specifically about the UF job. “Those things might be hard for you guys to ignore, but they’re really easy for me to ignore. I show up to work and watch film and get practice ready and go out and do my best to get our team ready, and I don’t pay any attention to it.”

Frost is in the midst of a 7-0 season, and feels it would be a disservice to his team to allow his focus to waver.

“It would be a crime for me to do that with the sacrifices that our team and coaching staff have made, and the type of season these guys are putting together. They deserve my 100-percent focus, and they have it.”

This is Frost’s second year at UCF where he has earned a 13-7 record, after taking over a Knights squad that was winless the season prior to his arrival. Prior to UCF, Frost was the offensive coordinator at Oregon.

I would think that Frost would be intrigued by the bright lights, and the Mike White connection would be at least good enough for an interview with Stricklin.

Was trying to be funny. Not so funny. Sorry.
He has been kind of pissy for a while.

I think he just figured out that oxes are bulls with no balls.

It's with cause.

What in the world are you talking about? We were discussing the potential hiring of Chip Kelly and whether or not the SEC could legally have something to say about whether or not UF hired him.

The SEC most certainly gets to say nothing about whether or not UF or any school keeps a coach. If the SEC did have something to say about that, then we would all be getting together to fire Saban and extend Bielema's contract for life.

Additionally, McElwain was NOT fired for cause. It sounds like UF threatened to fire McElwain for cause, but McElwain and UF mutually agreed to end their contractual relationship. The threat probably gave McElwain reasons to agree, but it was still ended by mutual agreement.

I know you like that when she denied your relationship with her but this aint the time.

They damn well do and you know it. Money talks. Everything else walks. We have tons of contracts that guarantee they have a say.

Flout their ruling see what happens.

Get NCAA sanctions afterwards and see what additionally happens...major clawback directly or indirectly.

The athletic budget runs thru the SEC.

Actually do the contractual obligation we have the SEC and the SEC having a rules in place about coaches hires. The SEC actually would have a say, in fact due to Kelly's issues with the NCAA. The Administration is obligated to contact and speak with the commissioners office before making a hire due to SEC rules.
