Yes, Dooley, my former media friend and others were all at the same meeting where Mac whined off the record and then gave the scoop to Forde. My buddy told me about all this after I questioned him after hearing the GC podcast Monday. He said he thought he'd told me. I have been saying all year on the Gas that I am shocked Shane Matthews not only gets to be on Russell's show on Mondays, but has received and still has his on show. The way he's not afraid to go against the company line. I've even sent praise to Miller @ GC and Miles from SECC for calling it like it is.

Also, got lots of crap for not liking McElroy. Glad to see I'm not the only one
Hey truth, I like you as a poster but I've read this three time and don't understand any of it.
Can you translate this to english?

Sorry, was using my phone and my have ranted a bit much. Cliff notes

Essentially, Mac had an off the record meeting and trashed UF including saying he wouldn't have taken the job. Dooley, my media buddy and others were a part of this.

I have congratulated several members of the media who have spoken out.

I am shocked that Shane Matthews is allowed on WRUF since he's spoken out a number of times on air.

"If you want to find the high point of the Jim McElwain Era at Florida, it was that perfect October night in 2015 when the Gators throttled third-ranked Ole Miss 38-10."

Been saying this for 2 years. He peaked at 6-0.
And that was with Chumps defense and a QB mac ran off

You're seeing it this year, 4-5 wins a year. This could've all been avoided if Foley would've hired James frankilin, after chump

You mean away from Penn State after his first year there... timeline is a little off for that hire.

Yes, Dooley and his ilk have known from Day 1 this was a bad hire that wasn't going to work out, but they had to remain in lock-step to keep from losing access. Nothing but softball questions at press conferences for 2.5 years. It's sickening.

And LOL at Mac acting like he wouldn't have taken the job had he known about facilities. Good Lord does he think highly of himself. His recruiting excuse was that he couldn't get these guys because our facilities suck. It's interesting that Urban Meyer didn't seem to have a problem. I also don't recall Urban Meyer complaining publicly one time about the facilities. He had more brains than to embarrass his bosses publicly.
Urban had the best facilities (at the time) but that all fell apart starting in 09. Everyone else started building while we refused to do so. Our piss poor Facilities has cost us tremendously over the yrs and they'll continue to do so until they are fixed.

That's kind of useless without context. Was he trashing the facilities? Trashing the lack of slalaries to attract quality assistant coaches? The lack of people to watch film and do quality work? support staff?

Or was it that he was trashing the AD for not supporting him publicly by telling Gator nation that four losses and blowouts are perfectly fine?

To the extent that he was criticizing facilities and support staff, I agree. However he can't be such a simpleton and be unaware of when to make those complaints and how to do it.

If he thinks he was doing a good job and that the University of Florida is the only place where they demand wins, then I welcome him to look at the history of 4 and 5 loss coaches at Alabama Texas and other elite schools.

MooseDump recruited very well on defense and probably would have recruited well on offense if he thought that side of the ball was important. No whining about facilities from him... Great position coaches recruit... facilities are an ancillary benefit when it comes to recruiting.

How does Dooley have the BALLS to write that article? He's basically saying, I knew it all along, but I reported, said, and did nothing. I only served as a mouthpiece. OK Dools, you were stuck. Maybe you thought you had to do that. But you just came right out and said plain as day, don't ever believe another thing I write because it wont be what I really think.

Not that that is any news to me or the rest of us.

Is Dooley the columnist or the beat writer. The beat write is stuck. They probably need to maintain access. That is why papers generally have separate beat writers and columnists. It almost appears to me that UF has two hybrid beat writer/columnist in Andreu and Dooley. Clearly the Orlando paper has a beat writer who needs to maintain access and Bianchi as a columnist who can offer strong views and who writes on a variety of subjects and does not need to maintain access. Maybe the local paper just feels all of its writers need to maintain access.

That's a fair point. And it starts with the definition of a beat writer. I'd love some of our former media guys to comment. All I can do is read what other beat writers "say' their job is. And without going overlong, their definition does not include rolling over and playing dead. In Dooley's case, if I had the time, it would be interesting to go back through some of his stuff and see what, if anything, he produced that was the result of special access.

I think you're right about the hybrid point. And if a change of structure is necessary the Sun ought to make it.

Regardless, if Dooley was in that fix, and I think he was, he shouldn't have written that column and looked like a fool. Unless of course the administration told him to. Good lord at what point do you say no?

No no no.

If he had fired that Fvkktard after 4-8....

I'm pretty sure we were making comments about it at the time. Then jeremy went full **** tard and doubled down on the chump. He should've stepped aside at that point. But the best AD of all time wanted to fix it. Thanks jff.

Exactly I talk to a Gator friend who still weekly brings this up. Dooley in his facebook live today said the pool was really thin when McElwain was hired, but of course UF had the year before kept a 4-8 coach, so that thin pool was Foley's fault. This year Dooley things the pool is quite good. We shall see.

Its pretty obvious Mac was in over his head. However one thing Im grateful for is he opened some eyes and got the ball rolling on facility improvements. Something Muschump harpes on when recruiting agains us......and probably most sec coaches as far as that goes.

Alabama named their visitors locker room the "Fail Room", b/c a booster with the name of Fail paid for it. It's supposed to subliminally influence the visiting team to play in the Fail Room.

If Mac's upgrades include the visitors locker room, we should name it the jim mcelwain locker room, b/c it will have the same effect.

Face it, guys, we were hit the perfect storm of ineptitude. We had old(er) facilities compared to the theme park digs that went up at Oregon, Bammer, FSUX, etc... combined with a piss poor AD (who thought he was the smartest man in all of college football), who hired a coach who has ZERO ability to actually coach football at a high level (Mac is a fraud, and I hate that he wasn't fully exposed until he came here).

There is not a single program in the country that can compare to the amount of neglect we have suffered over the last 8 years. We're lucky we can actually field a team at this point. We need a guy like Frost to reinvigorate this program, and wake up the sleeping giant that is THE MIGHTY GATORS!!!
