I agree the comment was in relation to what people want and reality getting in the way at least for the time being.

The AD said there have been no discussions of money with anybody, so not with Kelly yet.

In some ways with the right organization I would like Kelly a lot, but those would be difficult to get and keep. Your HBC has a very integral role which he appears not to desire to fill.

Do you really think with ongoing negotiations that the AD would come out and admit it? If you're waiting for the AD to make a statement about the search with actual factual information then just wait for when a presser is announced because you are looking in the wrong place.
