I’ll also reiterate that while it made me happy not to see Kelly completely turn down the rumors, he also didn’t say anything to make me genuinely believe he’s our head coach. Everyone saying that they can read body language and all this other jazz... I don’t believe you. Unfortunately, I believe this is still a waiting game until something more credible surfaces.

You know body language is in fact a thing...right? You know the FBI uses it. You know they teach it now in the business world, right? You know you can verify what people are saying just by a simple Google search, right? Okay, just checking.

Contract negotiations involved facilities and could have been one of the hold ups. Seems reasonable to discuss it.

What did you want him to say? The only thing concrete that he could say would be a denial, and he didnt.
I'm no expert, but it amazes me how many people fail to properly understand a negotiation. If he hasn't signed a contract he can't come out and publicly state how much he wants the job. That would harm his negotiating leverage.

I'm sure this mock interview was staged by ESPN. With all of the rumors out there they probably figured this would be the best way to allude to the situation without compromising his leverage.

Why is there an assumption that an announcement about Kelly this week would somehow deflate or disrespect the team? Everyone already knows Shannon isn't going to be the HC next season, certainly including Shannon. If anything, I think the news would pump the team up. It would sure as hell pump the fans in the stadium up.

Guys, it gets tricky to have a new coach hired before the season is over. The NCAA limits the number of coaches we can have.

I know, I know. NCAA let OSU hire Creyer and have two staffs, one coaching the current kids and one recruiting. They have denied every request to do that since then.

It isn't likely to happen until next Saturday, IMO.

What parking lot are you talking about? The Odome parking lot to the east with the parking garage is not in play. There are two ways to go: West or South of the practice field. Originally they were putting it west. The baseball stadium is directly south. You can't build there until you take the stadium down. That is the current plan.
If they want to get it done fast they would have to go west to the original location. If they plan on it being larger then they have to take out part of the track which is fine by me and the least disruptive.

Which is what they should have done. Give the BB facility a facelift and get to work on the FB facility in the original location. Faster, cheaper, smarter, less Foley-like.
