Someone said Goldkamp posted something this morning on 247 that got upvoted. The Vols insider board on 247 is claiming it's us for Kelly "per UF247" as of this morning.....

Fuk our current staff and this whole paying respect to them nonsense. Nord and Nuss should receive zero, not one iota of respect. Hire the new guy and let him wave at those two chit coaches from his new office. This staff rolled out one of the worst coached, worst prepared, physically and mentally teams in UF history.

Just speculating but it could be coming from Kelly as well...coaches are very sensitive about other coaches who are currently working and especially those doing the thankless job of being interim/lame duck

President Fuchs isn’t on that plane if it’s not a done deal. Dunn is too much of a professional to dick over a University President. UF sends too many kids to the league and an agent doesn’t want his access cut.

You also don’t tell your players it’s done until it’s done. They didn’t do their choreographed tweet until about an hour or longer after the plane landed. So the timeline lines up with them knowing.

All this nonsense is based off a Robbie Andreau tweet. That guy just writes what he’s told to.

IMO its safe to say that if this falls through with Chip and we don't get Frost then this search has been a disaster. Im not saying I think that happens, because I'm a VIP member on another site and the reporter seems to think the contract was signed last night.

Perhaps not a "pitch" but to be part of the process, make Chip understand that it is serious and that the academic side of things is very important at UF, in case he did not understand that.

Thanks for that additional information, I did not notice. It seems like a plane that I would not fly for that purpose, but perhaps they are thrifty.

Someone who knows the pilot and plane told me. He also said that he heard that the deal is done. That seems to be what is being reported, but I don’t know anything for certain. I can only guess that they chose the Ocala airport to attempt to evade the press, but that didn’t work out too well.

The Robbie Andreu backtrack indicates that he may be acting at the behest of the UAA. Common sense dictates:

1. UAA tells Andreu to put out misinformation tweet about Kelly not signing the deal so that UAA can announce on its own timeframe.
2. Andreu puts out tweet and improvises on UCLA interest
3. UAA sees tweet and think it makes UF look bad bc of possible UCLA interest by a UF HC candidate.
4. UAA tells Andreu - "hey backtrack that post a little"
5. Andreu tweets "retraction" of earlier post.

Players didn't know that Mac was canned before they found out on twitter, i doubt they know where anything stands.

It’s probably just the daily reporting that the contract has been signed, this should make like 5 consecutive days we made him sign a contract.

I’ve been lurking this chat for the past several days. I used to be part of the old Gville Sun board and see a lot of familiar names...Ox, Slevin, etc and thought I would join back in.

Here’s my take:
I think it will most likely be Chip. Idt President ****s would make that trip just to pitch. He was probably there to answer questions about the contract. Second, so many leaks coming from people close to the search saying a contract was signed and then the players did that unified tweet. And just maybe they flew in and out of Ocala to distract Chip arriving in Gainesville? It seems weird to me that they used that airport. I’ll be watching for the Monday presser as well with fingers crossed.

I asked the same questions last night. Did anyone watch the planes coming out of NH? I mean there could be plenty of other methods for our next coach to get to Gville. No one not a single legitimate UAA member has confirmed or denyed anything.
If the deal fell through, UAA would be damage control moment one. With a push to focus on frost or whoever else was plan b. Or say we were Visiting Kelly to get his feel.
The UAA has never officially released that Kelly was a target (although we all know he is) so they can still save plenty of face and steer the media. The fact that the sun is backpedaling leads me to believe as such.
Sit back peeps it's gonna be a fun ride.

The Cessna that they flew up on only holds six. Six were on that plane. There was never any intention of Kelly returning with them on the plane. It doesn’t mean anything other than that, but the fact is that he couldn’t have came back.

A Cessna 525 holds between 7-10 passengers discounting any crew beyond a pilot.
