For a recruiting class that was ranked No. 15 by Rivals and No. 11 by Scout, the actual contributions are surprisingly low. Reggie Nelson (an All-American), Wilson, Munroe, and Moore (54 carries, 282 yards) were the only players to play a measurable role on the 2006 national title team. Only Murphy, Phillips, Stamper, and, to a lesser extent, Moore and David Nelson played measurable roles on the 2008 national title team.

We are in rarified air here. Zook, Meyer, Chump and Mac all came in late and couldn't do much more than try to hold the classes together. Meyer did the best, Mac did the worst. (somewhere I compared all the classes) I don't think any of them processed many kids out. Mullen has had 3-4 weeks prior to the dead period to establish/re-establish some relationships. We will just have to wait until Feb to see how that works out.

I suggest a new thread devoted exclusively to the recruits. Mods could supervise maybe in Recruiting forum. We could then keep this thread for criticizing (or even applauding???) the coaches effort at recruiting.

Uhhhhh..... never real knew why a recruiting forum appeared. It appears to be the second dungeon. Once the recruiting page on the main page slows down, it gets moved there to die.

Excellent idea Ancient. And I've tried. Unfortunately I can't moderate without mod powers. But it would be nice to have a recruiting thread that was just about latest news and not the bloviated opinions and bickerings of those who will go unamed.
