Reminds me of a poor mans tebow in the context of Mullen’s offenses.
that might be a little too far but the point is he has looked functional in this style of offense before although obviously that spread is much more pass heavy at least from the clips. if you notice he even looked off the safeties a couple of times and did a couple nice pump fakes.

funny that he looks worse after 2 years of nussdrunk then he did in high school.... but the same could be said of Nuss drunks quarterback at Michigan.

It certainly is hyperbole. It does give me hope for a passing attack that is better than 75th.

Does anyone know what type of offense Franks ran in high school? I recall that it was described as simple so he would have a big learning curve going to a pro style offense, but had loads of talent and a big upside.

Despite his inconsistency and looking lost against quality defenses, he could take a big step forward from experience and a system that better suits him - especially if that system is familiar.
And even more so if he gets some competent quarterback coaching that takes his specific qualities into account..

I have no expectations of an improvement in Franks. None.

Yeah, competent coaches should be able to do something, find a way to use that cannon of an arm. But if the head is slow, I don't think they can fix that. I think Franks will start, but I don't know how long he'll last. I think he's durable, but too limited. Play him early in the season to buy time to develop the next one.

DT Noah Jefferson commits to Ole Miss - UF apparently wouldn't even let him visit (grades), I hope this doesn't impact Gerald's commitment - and I'll say this, for a team on probation, Matt Luke is putting together a very good class:

Ole Miss lands commitment from talented JUCO DT Noah Jefferson

Ole Miss has been hot on the recruiting trails the past few days, and that momentum continued on Monday night when coach Matt Luke landed a player from the JUCO ranks.

Arizona Western College DT Noah Jefferson, a 3-star recruit from Nevada, announced he was committing to the Rebels.

As you can see in the tweet below, Jefferson, a 6-4, 330-pound defender, is excited about the next step in his career:

According to the 247Sports composite, Jefferson is the No. 8 JUCO defensive tackle in the class of 2018 and the No. 2 overall JUCO recruit from the state of Nevada.

Jefferson is the 18th player in the Rebels’ 2018 class, which currently ranks No. 11 in the SEC and No. 36 nationally, per 247Sports. Of those 18 players, 14 have signed and four are simply committed.

I just have a hard time seeing that dude ever be a starter again. I mean ,we thought treon was bad. Franks threw like 5 td passes in 11 and a half games. Hell, 4 of em were accidents.

We already did that with EJ but two would be nice, no doubt.

Agree, but Copeland would be a better indicator of recruiting in future.
EJ is easier to explain considering the gaping hole we’ve had at QB and Bama looking set for awhile.

Not that our receivers have been all world, but we have some talent and more on the way.
He’d be a big get.

Only thing I've see that causes concern is a tweet he made saying he was a "gangsta" and wouldn't change his lifestyle.. But I don't really speak twitter, can't interpret 1 in 5 of them, so I don't know how serious that is... Definitely requires a lot of attention...

I saw that as well and it was part of why I was asking about him. If he was a “gangsta” I would suspect criminal activity and possibly an arrest record...juvenile or otherwise. I would also expect to see academic issues and some rumor of improper behavior in school, on the field, or in the locker room. I’m not insisting he is a choir boy just stating I can’t find anything negative about him other than he is enjoying playing each school against the other. It’s a dance and both sides are guilty.

You know, in this day and age you have kids in the suburbs driving daddy’s sports car throwing up gang signs and claiming to be gangsta. It’s not a stretch that a kid from the other end of town might feel like claiming to be gangsta give him street cred.

Until I hear otherwise about his behavior I hope like hell we get this kid. We could use a few cocky alpha males. Besides Mr. Savage will welcome young Mr. Copeland to the Swamp soon after. The fun and games will be over when he runs his d*ck in the dirt and has him puking in garbage cans.

This.
As long as he doesn’t get in trouble, I’ll take as many blue chip attention whores as we can get. We’re no clown school, but were not Stanford either.

Mehhh... I know he broke your heart. So many of you were sure anything is better than LDR and the year before it was anyone is better than Treon.

It was painfully obvious as early as the spring game that he wasn't ready to be on the field. It isnt his fault we had no one else and the coaches played him anyway. I suspect fan pressure was a big part of it. So many of you were so sure he was head and shoulders above LDR. Younate the words.

As for the mental thing, he isn't in full-blown panic run for your life mode every snap like Driskel. Tebow was pretty slow at processing, he did ok. We will see.

Im not saying he is going to be all sec, but you usually know by their RS soph year what you have. Wuerrfel was pretty sketchy in his RS fr year. He is a big arm, reasonable accuracy, who runs well. EJ will put significant pressure on Franks and could well win out early. At least ea we arent stuck trying to run spread with Jake Allen.

It’s the nature of the beast. If you choose to be on social media it happens. These kids act like attention whores through the whole process and now we are supposed to feel sorry for them?

One of two things happened, Mullen didn’t have room for him or he couldn’t get in. There is absolutely no reason for a JUCO to go to Ole Miss right now
