We've got three statues of Heisman quarterbacks, but I'm not sure you can say that's been our main position of strength over the past, say, 40 to 50 years.

Which one is it -- linebacker (Sammy Smith, Scot Brantley, Wilber Marshall, Brandon Spikes)? Wide receiver? Defensive Back U? And why?

Sirius answers only.

Seems like we’ve had plenty of DB’s drafted. Seem to remember several D-lineman as well.

Quarterback and its not even close. Who wins the quarterback battle a UF is still national news, not much about our program still is.
We won't be back until we find one.

We’ve had some great QBs but with the way we’ve struggled post-Tebow it’s tough to choose that position. I never believed the DBU bulls**t...seemed like that was created by a couple of overhyped players that were just as likely to get torched in a big game than lock down the opposing receivers. Linebacker maybe? Or defensive line?

We no longer qualify as a QB school.

Linebacker? The last great one we had was Spikes.

Three official Heisman QB’s plus another (Grossman) who got screwed and should have won it. Even with our qb struggles over the last 8+ years, it’s still an impressive pedigree for UF.

That’s my point...what great players have we had since 2010? Thats my dilemma and why I put question marks behind my choices. We’ve struggled mightily on the field this decade, which makes it tough to choose.

All on defense and all right up there. Easley, Fowler, Floyd, Elam.

Very interesting debate.

You're crazy! Are you over 30? There's literally too many former great DBs to name them all. I think back to guys like Keiwan Ratliff, Lito, Marquand Manuel... on down to guys like Ahmad Black, Reggie Nelson, Janoris Jenkins, Joe Haden, to name a very few. I agree that since Loucheiz and M. Roberson were here, that we've had some guys that were suspect, but even they were better than most schools ever get.

Yes, I am crazy. I hear voices in my head, I have aggressive conversations with myself and I’ve identified 12 different personalities inside of me. Putting that aside, the whole DBU nickname came about a few years back and, as best I remember, was coined by DBs on the team at that time. Those same guys got beat big time in big games. That’s my gripe with the whole DBU nickname.
