He never played for Butters.OJ Howard did very well at Alabama. 269, 260, 602 and 595 yds in his four years. I'd say he did pretty well.

Agree, top 15 would be great after this start. If we can pull in 4 dlinemen that are 300lbs or look capable of growing into that. Atleast 2 4 star corners that will be sec caliber. Start upgrading the linebacker talent . Keep building depth on the oline. We already have a qb that fits this system. Those are just some examples of our needs. If we can recruit a balanced class and fill our needs , in 2 or 3 years we can start to look like a 10 win team and then we'll start really competing for the elite guys again.14th would be GREAT after this horrible start. I was hoping 12th or better, w/ at least 12 blue-chip players. We will probably get 10 to 12 blue-chip players and finish just inside the top 20 - which is unacceptable at a school like ours. But, it is what it is at this point. It's not for a lack of trying, so hopefully the work will pay off in 2020. It's disappointing, but the blue-chip kids we were in on are starting to commit elsewhere, leaving our blue-chip list very thin. We're going to need a couple of flips and/or unexpected commits to even get to 10-12 blue-chip players. For me, if we finish higher than 15th and have more than 12 blue-chip kids it's going to be a big win for us (and for Mullen - after falling so far behind). The early signing period has changed things bigly and this staff needs to adjust.
Imo, were 5 or 6 years away from that at bestTop 14 would be below average, but better than an absolute failure.
It also means we wont have the hoses to compete for three more years, which may cause real problems for his career longevity if he doesnt have a good deal of luck.
The stud horses have to come here, then mature to juniors probably before we will ever compete again.
Has it occurred to anyone that it might take as long to return to the top as it took to drop to the bottom? (At least I hope that this is the bottom.)Imo, were 5 or 6 years away from that at best

We go 10-2 this year. No excuse for not winning. We lose to Georgia but will be competitive and one of LSU or MSU. We beat FSU. Hell if you take away Franks' 3 picks for scores we were competitive with them. That's with all the suspensions, coach getting fired.
There was another near pick 6.Franks accounted for 4 of their TD’s last year. 2 directly and 2 where their drives started in our red zone I believe. 2011,2014 and last year were very winnable games for us against the Holes, but the turnovers killed us. Of course have a competent QB in those games would’ve eliminated a lot of those turnovers too.
I LOVE KYLE TRASK #11 FOR LIFE
I am not making excuses for him this year. I just think people are jumping on him way too early. It's not a normal bump class because of the early signing class. 2020? Mullen has to crush it. No excuses. No rationalizations. None.
I’m not jumping on him, but I hope he realizes he’s got the shelf life of a fresh baked pie if he can’t recruit at the level of his rivals. Right now, he’s getting his ass handed to him by his successor at Missy State, the new clown, the new Vole and even Chump. Not to mention Saban and Kirby.I am not making excuses for him this year. I still believe he should have brought Joe Burrow as the 4th QB and RS Jones. Now I would really like to be surprised by the development of the QBs, but...I’m not jumping on him, but I hope he realizes he’s got the shelf life of a fresh baked pie if he can’t recruit at the level of his rivals. His tenure at his “dream job” will be short lived if he doesn’t get that fixed...PRONTO.
