Proud pumper...it’s a lifestyle.
Were you a proud pumper in service? No offense but my experience has been most lawyers, cops, military that are used to contingency planning and their very lives may depend on accurate assessment of the situation tend to be much more realistic.

Now I also see plenty of the "fvkk it, we'll do it live" and get the mission done attitudes, perhaps with a smile and a coffee in hand.

In many ways, this place is my sarcastic release and juvenile acting out playland. Maybe this is the same for you?

BTW, you will see we are all pumpers on game day.

Nice response.

Yes, pretty much a pumper all my life based on some extraordinary role models very early on. In the Corps in which I was a Mustanger (served both as enlisted and officer) we would often say if a Marine is not bitching he’s not breathing. It’s hard work in unforgiving environments. I’ve served in deserts and forests exceeding 115 degrees and operated in 40 below. But probably the best advice my father (retired Marine) ever gave me was to study and learn from the “bad leaders” as much (If not more) than the good ones. It was a game changer for me and was a tool to turn a negative to a positive.

I learned as a Commanding Officer that I got far better results and infinitely higher morale by motivating and inspiring than leading with a hammer. Positive worked for me.

As far as this board goes...I love it. I love the humor and the fact that so many of you are so impressively knowledgeable. I do get that it is a release even if I feel the negativity is often overboard and not conducive to building the brand. But I have come to the conclusion that both sides are important and need a voice. So I remain...and pump.

Nah, come on man. Every school needs pumpers. Fans that love the school, go to the games and are fiercely loyal. They offset the very knowledgeable, very pragmatic fans who see every weakness and become insufferable articulating how bad the program, coaches and players are. Their intent is honorable....They want nothing more than to see their team win championships every year. Their frustration often grows to the point that they often can no longer bear to attend the games and some even say they won’t watch on TV.

Pumpers naively surround the program with positivity even If unwarranted whereas dumpers feel the more negative aura they can introduce will eventually lead the program to make the changes to win championships every year.

I say both serve a purpose. Pump or dump as one sees fit.

Proud pumper...it’s a lifestyle.

Well said. I just have a problem with people thinking other people should shut up on a message board.

And the west sucked ass in the 90's like the east does now. That's what I'm saying is in the West it was Alabama winning, and we stomped their ass most games we played them would we be saying he sucked as a coach if he won at a school like Vanderbilt! No we would be cautiously optimistic about what he could do at a school that can attract elite talent.

I don't think the west was ever as bad in the 90's as the east has been in some recent years. Remember Spurrier lost most of his SEC games to that same "down" west. Now for a good portion of the 90's were the 2 best teams in the SEC thought to have been UF and Tennessee annually? Yes, but after that other than UGA having a few ok years there was no other team in the east with a pulse. Bama, Auburn, Miss St, and Arky represented the west in a SEC championship game in the 90's. 5 out of the 8 seasons in the 90's that the SEC had divisions Florida lost to a west opponent, only 2 of the west teams didn't beat Florida during that period, Arky and Ole Miss. Also the East was never as good top to bottom as the west has been in some recent years, partly because Vandy and Kentucky just aren't capable of consistently being at least average. Auburn really should've been moved to the East when Missouri came in, it would've balanced the conference a bit more.

Disclaimer: I didn’t want CDMullen either. I was seduced by the fake news of Kelly and the dream of a perfect Frost.

But somehow, now I feel we have the right coach for the job.

He loves being here. This is his chance to show that he doesn’t t suck as bad as his record might indicate. This is his chance to show errrrybody that we fvvvked up not hiring him twice. The guy will win or die trying... and that’s really all we can ask for at this point.

And before you starts shouting about recruiting.... let’s see how it goes, you hosers.

t-rex told me we won't even win the coin-toss.
Four C-tosses in a row without victory is enough information to fire the guy IMHO. If you ain’t gonna recruit double-sided guarantees.... I mean a loser is a loser.

Why’d we hire this loser again? Oh yeah, to shut up the naysayers and return us to glory. Last time of which CDM had a front row seat and was dreaming of the day he’d seize the reigns of control. Welcome to your dream CDM.

Dislike. I'd give you a real dislike but apparently mein furher is a little touchy.

I think I've been extremely tame when it comes to Dan. I'm in the wait and see club. At minimum, he's got three years.
