And there was a huge hold on the first conversion that, of course, went uncalled like so many others in this game.Vandy was 3 of 12, which is impressive. But even more impressive was that they didn't get their first conversion until halfway through the 4th quarter.
I must have said it five times in the box, but Vandy’s first touchdown was a 3rd down play. Announcers had it wrong the whole game.Vandy was 3 of 12, which is impressive. But even more impressive was that they didn't get their first conversion until halfway through the 4th quarter.
Mississippi state, LSU and Vanderbilt converted only 9 out of 41 third downs combined in the last 3 games, for a conversion rate of 22%. I thought that was an eye popping stat. Can we finally put this to rest?
I don't think a TD after 1st and goal at the 2 yard line really counts as a "conversion." The term is usually reserved for getting a 1st down to continue a drive.I must have said it five times in the box, but Vandy’s first touchdown was a 3rd down play. Announcers had it wrong the whole game.

You really don’t think a touchdown on 3rd down counts as a conversion? How long have you been watching football?Sure, you win the prize.
Technically you are absolutely correct. Now tell me how your arm-breaking self-back slap contributes even a tiny bit to the point of the thread? You really don’t think a touchdown on 3rd down counts as a conversion? How long have you been watching football?
Sure...in december let's revisit this thread. I guess I am superstitious and all these I told you so threads seem a bit premature. The team is playing well. Mullen is coaching well. Let's keep it going.

Don't have to wait to December to see that our third down D is doing just fine. Apart from UGA, who is left that is going to seriously threaten this conclusion? It's not like we are just doing it against cup cakes. We are doing this against SEC competition.
Again I am not saying we are winning all the other games. I am just addressing another thing we heard about preseason and early into the season that seems to be blown out of proportion.
I dont really understand this. Dont you come to this board bc of SAS and dozens of other characters?Sas continues to be an annoying, mealy-mouthed dick. Ignore.
