I certainly don't want to defend Muschamp who I think is awful, but I have seen this mentioned serveral times. Could it be that Muschamp was of the theory that DL in high school were more athletic than OL and that he could bulkd up and switch the DL he signed who ended up down the depth chart to OL?

The DL to OL switch was more common at one time. Perhaps Muschamp just did not adapt when kids became more resistance to this? I think it was past when that was common, but I have always wondered if that was Muschamp's rationale?
No.

Can you see what Luke is saying in that thread? Some Oregon smoke popping up but he’s been a huge Florida favorite for awhile.
Just caught up on the thread. Yeah, plenty of info going both ways. Just saw that Biggins put in a CB for us. So did Billy Embody from LSU. Looks like a coin flip, but I like the fact that Biggins called for us. All of the Oregon balls are from their mods/writers, so I'm not entirely confident he's a lock there. You know, one guy calls it based on someone telling him there MIGHT be a "silent commitment" and then everybody else jumps on the bandwagon.

It is such old news it is not really worth talking about I guess. Still do you have any evidence or is that just a knee jerk reaction? It is my reaction too some, but I wonder if Muschamp thought he had a plan to have an OL.
If one thinks champ had a plan, is one not forced to believe that several years in champ still hadn't noticed it wasn't working? I believe it is kinder to think champ failed to plan.

You can't say that a recruited DL who is forced to play OL because the coach was too fccking stupid to sign enough OL is now an OL signee. You also can't put Trevon Young in there, when he committed after NSD, and no one thought he'd ever pan out. He wasn't a project, he was a hail mary from your own 10, with Luke Del Rio throwing it. Taven Bryan was recruited as a DE. Not sure why he's even on your list. But yes in 2014, Muschamp recruited a bunch of 3*s and Sharpe who no one knew was partially blind (great recruiting there). Muschamp's OL recruiting was horrible...period.

Not to join this pissing contest, but Taven Bryan was recruited to play OL. He was only 250 when he got to UF, so they put him on DL because they needed depth.....as they say, "the rest is history".

When Muschamp left, the biggest issue was Rod Johnson had the unexpected medical issue and Moore (?, the kid who transferred in from Nebraska maybe?) went pro early (and didn't get drafted). No one expected the Moore early departure and the Wilson thing cost us another body (I believe there was a third OL around that time that unexpectedly left....leaving the 7 or so OL's for Butters. Both of those guys would have started in 2015. Still no excuse, but there was a domino effect that really killed the OL group in 2015.

Coaches visited Wright last night. I wish this kid would just commit already (unless, of course, Sanders wants in):

Taven Bryan, 2014 Strongside defensive end - Rivals.com

Note that in addition to being a SDE, his primary recruiter was Lawing.
