URG just brought to my attention that one of our oldest members, GMDGator - a Founding Member and Lifetime Supporting Member, passed away at the age of 47 on May 6th.

While GMD was mostly involved in the Political Forum, he truly loved the Gators and had a great sense of humor. We enjoyed tormenting him greatly and he was almost always a great sport. He hadn't logged on since May 2nd and I had actually emailed him a couple of times.

We'll miss you, man - keep on rooting for our Gators on the other side.

He stepped away for a short time but he came back - when he disappeared the second time I figured he was just taking another break.

Unreal. Even though he had two left hands and feet politically, he was a really good guy. After chatting with him on the side, I really think he was more of a centrist and just enjoyed aggravating people on the right. Speaking of feet, he was a real fan. This is for you GMD, RIP.

According to his obituary, he had two daughters and had been married for 25 years. Way too young to go.

Just started connecting dots.
I know what he looks like because of he used his picture on Twitter, and subsequently, his name.
I thought it odd that he stopped Twitter and GC at the exact same time, and just out of curiosity I wanted to find him, so I searched and found the obit.
I wasn't ready for that.
