Well..... Id say he started the season by underperforming (losing to Kintucky and Mizzu is always underperforming) and ended the season by overperforming.
This year we get to see if it was a trend or a fluke.
I basically agree, but he also finished the seasons:
1. Against the an FSU team quite different than we expected at the beginning of the year and quite different than any FSU team faced by McElwain and Muschamp.
2. Not making it into the SEC Championship game to play a neutral site game against a top team.
3. Against a Michigan with the number 10 and 12 picks in the NFL draft from their D and an all big team RB siting out rather than play in a meaningless game.
It is easily possible had UF played an FSU team like any other in the last decade, in the SEC championship game and a bowl game where the opponent did not have players sitting out UF would have finished 1-2 or even 0-3 rather than 2-0. That would certainly change the perceptions of the past season.
So if UF regresses this season it may not be a matter of last season being a fluke as much as a different schedule.
