Walton obviously read this post :)This post has aged well.
Like There Was Ever A Doubt ... - Florida Gators
Game 3: Florida 2, Tennessee 1 (Instant Recap) - Florida Gators
Obviously a huge clutch walk off win for the Lady Gators! LOVE seeing these Lady Gators celebrate after practically being left for dead about halfway through SEC play. Its all gravy from here! LOVE seeing FSU OUT and not even make it back to the WCWS.
Read the thread. It was said by many that this was NOT a Gators team that would make it to the WCWS. Then we went on a hot streak and have done the unthinkable this season since we were in a supposed down year. Credit goes to these Lady Gators and the coaches. Its Championship or Bust for this team EVERY year. This team already has one championship this season. Lets see if we can pull of the ultimate championship in the WCWS. Go Gators!!
They are young with a few all star veterans. Next year will tell us about talent because the youngsters will have to produce for us to maintain a high level. This is the least talented Gator team I can remember. But they are gritty. What they've done the last two years just to make the Women's College World Series has been remarkable and you certainly can't count on that every season. But it's also hard for them to play SEC teams in a Super Regional because they don't fear the Gators at all because they know them. They respect the Gator girls no doubt but there is no fear because they know the team inside out.
I hope they can get hot in OKC but teams like Oklahoma and UCLA have monster lineups. Abby Barnhill will be tested to say the least.
On a side note I hope Walton can start recruiting top hitters again like he had for several years.
I saw the umps call an illegal pitch against LSU I think in the Super Regionals, their pitcher was about 3 or 4 inches off the ground with her back foot when she came off the rubber. What I’ve seen with Barnhill, if she is off the ground on some pitches it’s barely, maybe 1/2”. She’s gaining no additional advantage from that. Other fans are b*tching because she is Kelly Barnhill and their team can’t beat her. Last year she had issues with illegal pitches. She’s nowhere near what she was doing last year. I’ve seen worse from other pitchers that hasn’t been called. Is Kelly still throwing a ton of illegal pitches? I don't watch her foot placement every time, nor is it shown..but if she is/was then why isn't she called on it more? I know twitter is what it is, but all other fans seem to complain she throws them often if not every time, and not being at many of her games over the years, wondering what the opinion of that is.
To me, it probably is more often illegal than most, but no way would they call it every damn time..I mean..you don't call a foul in NCAA or NBA basketball every time you could and you don't throw the flat every time there's holding on the O-Line/D-Line battles, which there's usually a way to always do it if you really wanted to. They call, in both cases, the more obvious fouls. Maybe the same applies here. Dunno. Thoughts? No thought? Thanks.

All it takes is an umpiring crew that gets picky about it and it could devastate us. That happened in the WCWS with Stephanie Brombacher several years ago. The crew there was calling illegal pitches on her so often, Walton had to quit using her and it, basically, killed our chances of winning. This is kinda what I figured..it must be so minuscule and that's the reason it hasn't been called much on her..she's definitely improved..just not being close to Gainesville it's hard to catch games too often in person. Thanks for the response. I think more coaches would be bringing it up over and over and over if it were illegal and totally obvious and not just let her get away with it and such as some of this twitter asshats claim. Typical.
