Has any credible sports media even confirmed they are talking to Chip? Pat Forde, or bleacher report or TMZ, they get everything.
Only reason I believe it is happening is no denial from Kelly camp. But the longer this drags out, the more of a clown show it becomes.
Yeah, but as much of a non-story as this has been on most mainstream and traditional media outlets, it's not really a clown show YET. It's only a clown show on Gators sports forums like this one. If it doesn't pan out, then a lot of posters and UF fans may look silly (if ESPN talking heads feel like harping on a few over-confident tweets [or thousands of posts on message boards]).
But if it does pan out, then they will definitely all pat SS on the back for how quiet, professional, and relatively un-sensationalized of a search it was; at least considering the stature of the position.
CK is definitely my #1 candidate. I never thought he was realistic. However, as others have mentioned, with how quiet this has actually been (no mainstream media is really talking about, no comments or denials from Kelly or UF, subtle teasing/trolling on twitter, etc)... I'm starting to think it may be real. I think if it is we'll hear something in the next week (maybe - hopefully - tomorrow?!). But you're right. If CK doesn't end up in Gainesville, THEN this will all be looked back on as bit (maybe more depending on who the coach ends up being) of a blemish on the search in general (even if they try to excuse it away by saying 'we were exploring many options' or some such).
Hopefully things work out and CK is here as soon as tomorrow.
