YOU CANT TRANSFER FROM AN SEC SCHOOL TO AN SEC SCHOOL.
All depends what the coach will allow but yeah pretty sure he'd block all SEC teams... butt then you just pull a Cam and go to juco and then transfer wherever the hell you want

Hope you got those from a reputable source. There’s a ton of counterfeit Pappy out there.
Yeah stores in nyc get a small allocation, way smaller than normal I think but I’ve got friends who sell me some for only 300% markup instead of thebnormal 100000000%

Just to let you know: pappy is 50 bucks wholesale. It’s insane how much they charge for it in store

It's conference rule, man. I think only emergency transfers (like sickness at home) and grad transfers are allowed.

I'm with him on this though. Hire someone else's 4-5 loss coach for $$$$$$ vs keep one of the ones we have as interim and hunt again next year, I'm all for it.

Good deal. The $50 wholesale is probably the 10 y/o. I was told it will retail this year this year for $79, and on up from there. I think the 23 y/o retailed last year for over $200. Which one(s) did you get?

Is it a new rule? I remember Huertes from BBall transferring to Ole Miss. But that’s the only clean transfer that comes to mind. We had the Bama LB transfer her after he sang to the NCAA Spurrier...Travis Carroll?

I'm truly disgusted in myself for already hitting the Milwaukees Best....too early yet here it goes.
You having the single barrel or double? (They rate how many nostrils it comes out of during the inevitable projectile vomiting that follows the consumption of a 9 dollar case)

Yeah Carroll was like witness protection or something but he actually had a sick mama too.

If he is going to do it, he will have to go through juco, which is probably smart anyway.

Like I said Huertes is the only clean transfer I could think of. I just chalk it up to school imposed transfer restrictions. It’s common for them to block transfers to anyone on the schedule over the following X number of years.

I tried a top line Pappy at a tasting room in Nashville. I thought Pappy was a little overrated. The best I had was a 30 year old Willet. I prefer a good single malt scotch but a drinkable bourbon is more affordable than a drinkable single malt

“I’m going to say the same thing I said at SEC Media Days, nothing has changed,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said during his press conference with the media. “We support the SEC rule of not granting guys releases to go to other SEC schools. It has been our policy here to do that unless there was a special circumstance.”

"The standard for granting waivers has been clear and compelling evidence that there is reason for allowing an exception to SEC rules," Sankey said in a statement.

There's more in that link.

I can't find the actual SEC rules. Not sure if it requires a waiver. Huerte, I don't follow basketball so I don't know if he was coming home for an emergency or whatever.

I doubt it's as quiet as it seems. Probably lots of contact between Kelly and UF over terms with Stricklin doing his best to keep us at play. Kelly seems more drawn to UCLA but more intrigued with Florida.

UCLA - opportunity to run the same track he has run before with success.

UF - opportunity to match up with Saban and the conference where “it just matters more.” Regardless of the current cycle, that is very true. Bigger, more full stadiums in the region where college football by far dominates all other leagues and sports.

The bigger, better challenge is clearly at UF.

While waiting for the turkey to cool, my final coaching search thoughts. I recognize that everything we think we know is probably 99% rumor and speculation.

First and foremost, I can't believe that UF would make an in-person trip to meet with Kelly (and have the University president along) for the purpose of anything other than "signing" a contract. Regarding the reports that it was to "make the UF pitch", well, it was a short pitch since they were only on the ground for a couple of hours. Since they took the "contract" person along as well it seems to make sense that the conversations had progressed to a point of agreement and a contract would have been signed.

Secondly, I can't think of ANY reason you would have Kelly sign a contract with an "out" that allows him to take a job with another school. If he was not ready to fully commit to the UF job you would just wait and tell him to call you when and if he was ready to take the job. Or as some have said you just end the negotiations with him. The report that he had a "window" of time to back out and go elsewhere is probably the most ludicrous story I've hear through this entire process. That makes zero sense based on any kind of sales or negotiating paradigms I've ever heard. I have too much confidence in Stricklin to believe that he would put a conditional contract in front of Kelly.

Lastly, Kelly is reported to be a private guy with a tight inner circle of friends. The leaked reports that assistant coaches had been contacted by him for potential jobs at UCLA is way too much information for a famously secretive coach. Close associates would know that leaking that kind of information would be a death blow to their chances of working for him since he would know exactly who shared that info with the media.

I posted elsewhere that I have a good friend who worked with Stricklin at MSU. He speaks very highly of him and told me as soon as McElwain was fired that Stricklin would make a good hire. All the bashing of him, without any concrete information about what is actually taking place, seems to be premature and unfair.

At this point I am still leaning toward the Kelly-to-UF camp. I will say that this thread and most of the discussions it contains has been thoroughly entertaining.

Happy Thanksgiving and Go Gators!

I’ve yet to meet anyone who thinks Pappy isn’t overrated. Doesn’t mean it’s not great juice though. I’d guess most of the higher aged bourbons are probably overhyped. Just seems like 10-12 yrs is the end of the prime maturation. Of course the wheaters can go longer, but it takes a good MD and some luck

(Never mind, you addressed this earlier)
( My bad Law)
Did the rules change since the late 90's? Travis Carroll transferred from Bama to UF, although Bama denied his request and enrolled at UF anyway. Carroll sat out due to transfer rules but ended up losing a year and not granted a redshirt. At least that's what I remember.
If I remember correctly, Carroll was from The Bolles school in Jax, yet committed to Bama.
