Recruiting 2020 Recruiting Thread: Gervon Dexter gets 5th Star on Rivals

Staff is supposed to make some big visits today, Mullen will be in on a few of these:

- Tim Smith
- Mordecai McDaniel
- Phillip Webb
- Marks

McDaniel I think was the rumored commit to another team that was supposed to flip a couple weeks ago. Higdon never confirmed it was him but he said today we were going in home with that particular player today so this looks like it’s lining up to be the guy many speculated was the flip. He said he expects him to commit during the visit or shortly after. I know nothing of him or his ranking though...but we need safety’s

He’s a PWO so actually this is a pretty solid addition.

Any walk-on OL or DL is a good pick up. Walk-on WR's & DB's are a dime a dozen. Getting these walk-on OL's are great for scout team and development. We couldn't get a walk-on OL to save our lives during the Butters years. We landed a pretty good one just before the season this year:

First off: he's 5'10 185lbs (5-star Demarkus Bowman is 5'10 190).

For the season he has 263 carries, 2319 yards, 8.8 ypc, 28 tds.

Columbus HS has played 7 of the Top 50 teams in the state of Florida this season:

#7 Booker T Washington
#15 Deerfield Beach
#32 Davie Western
#33 Fort Lauderdale University
#35 Delray Atlantic
#36 Dillard
#47 Kissimmee Osceola

Parrish rushed for at least 100 yards in each of those seven games.

Columbus HS plays for the 8A State Title on Friday against #6 Apopka HS.

I get it with the sizes. But I see a kid killing 8A Florida HS football from Miami. I also see a kid who weighs close to 190 now and w/ a college S&C program could get well over 200lbs by the time we need him to contribute (2nd season?). I get it that he's not Bowman, but he's also just a few pounds lighter and the same height. Call him a scat back or whatever, I'd rather take this kid than the White kid from Alabama who plays 1A ball.

Generically anyone called a scatback had better have noteworthy speed.
Schools out west (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, etc.) get good use out of "scatbacks" in the 175 lb range.
