Likely you see three guys decommitting at once because they went to the admin and said what's up and were told they didn't have anybody yet.
Seriously doubt the staff is working very hard right now on recruiting. I’m sure they’re all trying to find a job for next year.Likely you see three guys decommitting at once because they went to the admin and said what's up and were told they didn't have anybody yet.
Griffis = big country? Is that a twitter handle or something?
No offense, but he isn't big enough to be big country.
He means country like ApopkaNo offense, but he isn't big enough to be big country.
So did I and so was II *****ed about this a few years ago and was basically told STFU...
He means country like Apopka
What did we have? 7 EEs last year and 25 total?
People talk out of their ass. The journalists are the worst. There several different counts. There's a count of the number of people you can sign on signing day, max 25 BUT you can countback EEs if you have empty slots from the previous class. We signed 25 but 7ish were EEs so really eight more seats were unfilled. We could fill those this year. (Im guessing w the math, someone find a link and a solid number for EEs and I will change it later if necessary.)
And there's a SEPARATE COUNT of initial counters.
It's important to understand that it's a separate count because maybe somebody signs on signing day but never actually gets to the school on scholarship. that means some of the people that signed on signing day are not initial counters. We had several guys do that last year. Arjei Henderson, Hammond, Black and Wilson.
The initial counters that received scholarships (25-4) does include transfers though, so Cox was an initial counter. even Walk-Ons count as an initial counters when they are awarded a scholarship I feel like one walkon was awarded a scholarship but I forget who. (Am I right?) There is a limit for 25 additional calendars also but they too can count back under essentially the same rules. So I think that math is 21+ Cox t+ walkon -7 ish early enrollees count back to the year before, equals 16ish so maybe 9 earlies this year (never happen) could count back to last year.
You can also see how valuable it is to have a kid that's an early enrollee, if you have empty slots from the class prior.
You really can't listen to the numbers from the Twitter and "journalists". These just blur it all together.
I've heard we want to take 28 but that's because it brings the number 85 total, it doesn't mean that's all we can take. By the time we lose people to the NFL and people to transfers I fully expect the number to be sitting around 32 for our max signees and and perhaps even 34 total including transfers, assuming we lose enough to have room on the 85.
in the end I doubt we get to 85 again this year. actually I'm not sure that we ever get to 85 the Fooley still in the room.
Chief Osceola from what I heard
Transfers, grad transfers, jucos, walkons, anyone who is on scholarship for the first semester is an initial counter. Rule says 25 new (plus countbacks).Didn't realize we had that many add backs from the last class. Do you know if Grad Transfers count as initial counters? or just transfers?
They take max 25 each year (so 100 over 4 and 125 over 5) and toss the stragglers to get to 85 by August.Rule that bama somehow breaks every year.
It's a solid planThey take max and toss the stragglers to get to 85 by August.
