I was under the impression that Mullen had a super simple passing scheme, and he couldn't make the reads. Not saying he won't be more successful, but I feel like it would be comparing Doug Johnson to Danny, Shane or Rex in SOS's system.
I think it would stand to reason that DC's at places like Bama, Auburn, and others will be better prepared next year. And honestly, I'm really interested to see how UGA does today on defense. But I would have to think that jamming the WR's (where we let free releases) is probably enough to throw Franks off. Obviously you have more faith in the kid than I do. He's just two years removed from thinking it was ok to run out of bounds instead of throwing it away. I don't anyone can expect him to be close to what Burrow did this year.
Weren't they basically rushing four, with an occasional 5th and jamming guys? I didn't get to watch too much of it, so I don't really remember.Watch the Auburn tape, that's how you defend LSU's offense.
Not just jamming guys but playing them physically all the way through. It did not help that they actually got pressure with Brown and Marlon Davidson and Coe(?). We could not get any pressure on Burrow because the middle of our defense was weak and our ends were injured.Weren't they basically rushing four, with an occasional 5th and jamming guys? I do think we would have played press more if we had Greenard and Zuniga (or even if Cox was granted immediate PT). But he made a decision and I really didn't see much of an adjustment throughout the game.Or, what the Grantham strategy and do the opposite. LOL
remind me which quarterback became a better passer under Mullins instead of regressed every year?
