I am happy with what CBN is doing with recruiting. Call it pumpin' all you want. But last November we couldn't get a 4 or 5* to sniff our Jock Strap much less visit. If you can't see or at least tell a difference, go submit yourself for Drug Testing, immediately.

I'm with you TN.

Since Meyer was working it and bringing in #1 classes, we have had a guy busting it but didn't know we needed actual offensive side players, a guy who assumed we could just be Florida and recruits would show up (and like Bama would excuse every issue if they did), and a guy who was too lazy to even bother.

I don't know if CBN will succeed in recruiting but if he doesn't, it won't be for lack of organization and effort. I have been impressed with both.

Coaching...again, we will see. But I am holding hope that the energy I see so far will produce.

This is the point I've been trying to make to the dumpers: as of right now, only 52 of the Rivals Top 250 have committed to ANYONE. 80% of the Top 100 are still right there for the taking. You asshats are acting like all the good players are committed and UF is searching for scraps again. IT'S MARCH. Even Alabama only has 4 recruits right now.

Personally I think even the 52 are stupid for committing this early. What's the rush?

And based on history, a significant number of them will flip to somebody else.

Napier is good -- big improvement over the recent coaches -- but you guys are way over selling him. Reconstructing Gator football is going to take time.

You come to this conclusion over a high 3* to low 4* OT receiving an offer? Geesh. Of all the positions we are crootin, the OL isn't the one to bag on. We have top OL visiting, revisiting and talking about how much they love the emphasis being placed on the OL. Nobody is saying we are back this year. In fact, I think most understand that it is going to be a bit longer, but I promise you this, the OL class we pull in this year is going to be the foundation the program is rebuilt on.

Remember when we had to take a bunch of Hev specials because they whiffed on their plan A's and got into the plan B's to late? We took a bunch of OL that we should normally take as the add-ons to a solid pull. So what they are doing is smart by getting ahead of it now.

This ^ could be.? That way our fill-ins would come from the better "last chosen" pool than prior classes.? That wooed be crafty.? And wooed make that end of our recruiting better than the last-minute battles have previously made it. And there's always the greater chance of getting a diamond in the rough.

Will Miles has another good article. Both Mac and Mullen loaded up with 3*s early so they had high ranked classes (but low average) going into the summer. But then they were scrambling for blue chippers in the fall. Napier like Urby don't play that game. Bottom line, regardless of ranking at that time, if at the end of the summer the class average is 90 we're f'd. But if it's 93/94 we'll be in great shape.

Would you please explain the bolded part above? I must be missing something.

I’m thoroughly impressed with the recruiting except o-line. Even then, I don’t mind high 3 star guards. It is at tackle. I think we land Payton Kirkland (4*). After him, I’m not sure. But, we have a long ways to go. CBN prioritizes the o-line. So, we will see.

Quality over quantity.
The top classes have an average player score 93+. So that's the goal. We usually are around 90.
If your average is 90 at the end of the summer it is damn near impossible to raise it.

Napier had a top 10 OLine on UL talent. I’m not worried. Plus good recruiters have backup plans. How many times have we heard about the non committable offers at Bama, UGA and other places

Am I being simplistic? Can the star ranking take a backseat to coach Nap's up close camp examination of a particular player, where his team-fit carries much weight.?

There been a lot of noise around some high ranked kids committing to UF for the last several weeks. Now FSU insider Josh Newberg (who hates UF) has put in CBs to UF (with high confidence) for 5* DBs Mitchell and McClain, 4* OL Kirkland, and 4* Leblanc.

this means it’s not just UF sites blowing smoke.
