A midweek win and pretty dang good pitching from middle relief all the way thru. Maybe we are starting to get it together.

I expect to see Heyman on the bench to begin the weekend and Donay in as DH. And as for why Albert does not play perhaps because he refuses to hit the ball on the ground. Guy has infield fly power yet thinks he is Babe Ruth.

Well guess I got lucky with that call Donay solo HR to RF. Yep he will be in on Friday.
Yeah Donay took advantage of his opportunity and Albert did not help his case either at bat or in the field.

Only caught the ninth @FireFoley fisher looks comfy as a reliever, assuming his Friday night starts are a thing of the past?

I would say that barring an injury, Fisher is done starting on weekends. I would say the next time he would start, if at all, would be a tourney game just out of necessity, etc.

Mizzou leads 1-0 after one inning. Neely yields a leadoff triple scores on a groundout, a single, then 2 walks. Both walks were after he had them down 1-2 in the count. 36 pitch first inning. Not good. We only struck out twice in our first at bat.

Shelton boots a routine grounder on the 8 hole hitter. Neely walks the 9 hole hitter on 4 pitches. Next guy singles after Neely gets ahead 1-2 in the count. Neely has no ability to put a hitter away after he gets ahead in the count and ultimately goes 2 or 3 more pitches everytime.. But escapes the inning. Still 1-0. We are playing to our competition again. Mizzou comes in with a strong 1-8 record in the SEC.

We have 1 infield hit, 3 base runners and only 6 K's in our 5 at bats. Their starting pitcher just recorded his high in K's this season.......only took him 5 innings.

Neely hits 2 guys in the 5th inning but gets out of it. Over 100 pitches and 10 runners stranded so at least they did not score a ton. He is finished. He threw 9 pitches in that inning after getting hitters to 0-2 or 1-2. give the hitter some credit for fouling some balls off, but Neely has no ability to get a guy out without throwing a lot of extra pitches.

Anybody remember the year when Orel Hershiser of the Dodgers threw like 50 or more consecutive innings without allowing a run? That is what the Mizzou pitcher looks like. Does not throw hard, but unlike Orel he sports a 7+ ERA.

Our hitting is... painful to watch. I honestly want to know who is working with these kids. Swinging weakly at balls that are skipped over the plate?

Shelton makes his second error of the night on another routine grounder that would have been the 3rd out. Runners on the corners still 2 outs. Thomas bails him out with a nice play on the next hitter. Still 1-0, but Mizzou has left 12 runners on base. Thank goodness they suck.

2 more stranded by Mizzou in the 7th. 14 for the game. Nice job by Fisher but thanks to the wind turned what would have been a solo HR into a double. We need all the help we can get.

Heyman ties it with a solo HR into the teeth of the wind. That was a blast.
