Any rum drinkers?

Ginger beer is some nasty sh*t! I haven't had it mixed with rum, but tasted it on it's own...no way I could drink it again.

About a year ago, I visited San Diego for the 1st time and I had the best drink I have ever had at a bar. It was ginger beer, bourbon infused with cinnamon, and lemonade. It was called a cinnamon mule. Up until that night, I had never heard of ginger beer. Thinking I would re-create this drink at home... I bought some at Publix. My first warning was that it was located in the "ethnic" section. I had assumed it was alcoholic up until that point. By itself, that was some of the nastiest crap I have ever consumed. I thought that bottle had to be skunk. But nope, the 2nd bottle was just as awful. Went to a Mexican store to buy a different brand. It sucked even worse.

But it mixes well with bourbon... which is really strange.

Try darker beer or high gravity. If I can see through it, I hate it.

This past Halloween, we found 15 different pumpkin beers and had a huge blind taste test. Rogue Pumpkin Patch, was BY FAR, #1. ABC will carry it in the fall.

I don't drink anymore, but with that being said, It was my experience that nothing went with 3 fingers of Maker's better than about a half a cup of cracked ice.
